FALL for Dark Lips This Season
with MATTÉSE ELITE Lipstick

From the runway to the red carpet, goth-like, vampy lips are all the rage and Mattése Elite’s on trend lipsticks shades will bring this dramatic, high contrast look straight from the runway and into your makeup bag.

These ultra glamorous lipsticks offer full coverage, brilliant wet shine and unbelievable hydration due to their unique ingredients. Encapsulated hyaluronic acid leaves your lips moisturized and kissably soft. The super sleek wet finish is a result of the inclusion of emollient oils. And a gellified system creates a full color release with an extremely creamy texture.

My Take: I have been given the chance to try these Mattese Elite matte lipsticks when I received a few media samples from a representative to roadtest. I must say that I've been used to lustre lipsticks from MAC, so the formula of the Mattese Elite was something I was new to, but I loved it. First of all, the packaging is nifty. The lipsticks come in these sleek, black matte tubes that remind me of NARS' lipsticks. As I said, the formula is lovely - it glided easily on the skin and pigmentation is very good, BUT it is not matte, it gives this pretty sheen finish.

I am amazed with the formula. As the above-mentioned company description of the product says, it is like a gellified product. It gives tremendous pigmentation and yet is not matte and doesn't dry out your lips. It gives a lustrous shine but it doesn't just give a pretty sheen - it is packed with a lot of color. Staying power is great and all in all a very good lip product for me, because all my requirements are covered - good pigmentation, good staying power and beautiful shine and texture. I also like the affordable price - $10. It is available for purchase at the Ricky’s NYC store locations, and on www.RickysNYC.com.

As for the downside - I honestly can't think of any, although I believe as with any other lipstick, you need to prep your lips by applying lip balm prior to using this product. Dark fall lips are in style, and Halloween is around corner, so you might want to check out these dark (or even the lighter) shades from Mattese Elite - an unusual but pleasantly surprising marriage of bold color and lasting shine.
