L'Occitane En Provence Shea Butter Hand Cream Review

I was at a mall with a co-worker a few days before Christmas last year, and she pulled me to the L'Occitane En Provence boutique because she wanted to buy several tubes of the shea butter hand cream for her daughter. I was skeptical because I had just bought a pound of unrefined shea butter, and this product also has shea butter as its main ingredient. I tried it at the store and I understood why this product is L'Occitane's best seller.

On the L'occitane website, the Shea Butter Hand Cream is described as "a synergy of 20% Shea Butter, honey and sweet almond extract, blended with the light and alluring aromas of jasmine and ylang-ylang essences."
It also has Vitamin E to soothe and moisturize dry, tired skin.

The main thing that reeled me in was this product's amazing texture. I have unrefined shea butter which is amazing on the ankles, soles, and feet, but it is too thick, dry and unspreadable for the hands. L'Occitane's shea butter hand cream is amazingly creamy and rich at the same time. It glides like a dream on the skin and it's a cinch to apply on the hands and cuticles. At the same time, it is a very rich moisturizer that can soften really dry skin. I keep a tube of this in my purse and it's an everyday staple for me. I only use very little to moisturize my hands and cuticles. I live in a dry environment and I need to feed moisture as much as possible to my skin. I use this after I wash my hands and it really makes them look and feel soft and supple. I also like that this does the job without making my hands feel sticky and greasy.

The downside I can think about is the price for this product which is $10 for a 1 oz. tube and $26 for 5.2 oz. If you have dry skin though and would like to invest on a very good hand cream, I suggest this product. I still use my unrefined shea butter for my heels and feet and it really does the trick, but the L'occitane hand shea butter cream is great for the hands because of the excellent moisturizing properties, great texture and spreadability, and the non-sticky feel.
