Victoria's Secret: Very Sexy® and Beauty Rush

I was able to try some of the products from Victoria's Secret Beauty lines: Very Sexy® Makeup and Beauty Rush, and I must say I am liking most of the products. Very good ones for me are the eyeliners and the lip glosses. I can't believe I haven't tried these before. I would always buy pants from the Victoria Secret's site, but had never checked out the beauty products, until now. Here is what it says about the eyeliners:

Play the flirt. Creamy pencil adds lasting depth and dimension for the flirtiest gaze. Imported.

My take: I am super impressed with these. These have got to be some of the creamiest liner pencils I've tried. They are similar to Urban Decay's 24/7 liners in terms of creaminess - and these Victoria's Secret ones stay put on my lids the entire day without smudging! Usually, creamy liners tend to migrate to other parts of the face, would smudge and basically just make a horrible mess. Not so with these liners. I've been wearing the Dark Chocolate one for around 8 hours now, and I have yet to see a tiny smudge. It stayed immaculate on my lashline. Wow! It also has a built-in smudger on the opposite end for those sultry smoky-eyed looks. I've found a winner in this liner. Best of all, it's only $10. Application is also very easy with nary a drag. Didn't tug on my lids at all.

Beauty Rush™
Lip Gloss

Get delicious shine with shades that taste as good as they look.

My take: Can you say cheaper version of Lancome Juicy Tubes with the same shine and lusciousness? What is also fun is that the name of the color matches the taste - so they all smell and taste differently. Hot Cocoanut smells/tastes exactly like that: spicy coconut with a hint of chocolate! Reminds me of the smell of virgin coconut oil my mom used to massage her scalp with. I can't say I loved it at first application, but the scent grew on me, now it's a staple in my makeup bag. I also love the high shine. I also have it in Slice of Heaven and it is a beautiful sheer pink color that goes with everything. The best part is that these are on sale on the website for 2 for $12 or 5 for $20 - with 30 shades (and flavors!) to choose from.

Very Sexy® Makeup
Sheer Moisture Lipstick

Be effortlessly sexy. Hydrating formula covers lips in luscious color and gorgeous shine. Imported.

My take: I love the shine on this product, but I don't like it as much as the glosses. I also feel that it is not very pigmented, which is understandable because the selling points of the product are the sheer color and high shine. It's okay but not my favorite.

Beauty Rush™
Luminous Shadow

Cut loose and turn on the shine. Built-in applicator gives you the shimmer of loose powder shadow without the mess, in colors that are totally addictive.

My take: I have yet to try this on, but from making swatches of these, I can say that they really apply smooth and silky. I am planning on using these in one of my looks in order to test the staying power. This reminds me of the Revlon Bedroom Eyes powder liner (the applicator is supposedly used for creating smokey eyes) that I bought for 50% off, but, sadly, never used:

There you have it. The Victoria's Secret lines are a revelation, but if I were to choose, I'd highly recommend the glosses and the eyeliner, especially the eyeliner. They are really good - very very creamy without smudging. They're also a steal at $10 a pop.

I would be clueless if I didn't have the chance to try ont he VS makeup my friend bought from the US. It's sad how we don't have VS cosmetics line available here in PI, the packaging is so cute, I believe a lot of people would be interested with their products as the VS lotion are so saleable here!

The Shy lippie looks a lot like pleasureseeker from MAC or orange soda from NYX. Sigh.. i do wish we have them here. :)

You know how first impressions are hard to shake? I bought a Beauty Rush gloss that was chocolate scented and that was my first and last VS makeup purchase. The scent was too much. It was like being smothered by a Hershey's bar. Lol. I am lemming some of the blushes though.

Nikki- yeah I know the lotions are so big there, the makeup should be brought there as well, especially since they are more affordable than most department store brands but they aren't of cheap quality either. ;-)

shen- I wish so too, I bet someone is going to be a reseller soon!

Jamila- give it another go, girl, especially since there are 30 different types of scents!
