MAC Naughty Nauticals and Mineralized Loose Foundation

I was able to take a peek of Naughty Nauticals when it was launched yesterday, and I would have loved some of the colors if I didn't have them already. Unfortunately, nothing really unique (i.e. anything that doesn't look remotely similar to anything in my stash) caught my eye, except for Illegal Cargo eyeshadow. I even think this is kinda similar to my Flirty Number LE eyeshadow but I love Illegal Cargo nonetheless. The blues in the colors are awesome as well. I also liked Pandamonium but I already have that from the Pandamonium quad of the Balloonacy collection. Shore Leave is definitely pretty too, but a little too garish on darker skintone. I don't know if it is because of the color or the texture, but a light-handed application would create a very pretty color. Submarine and Meet the Fleet would make a sultry smokey blue-eyed look.

See how pretty Illegal Cargo is?

I also like the fact that MAC came up with lustreglasses instead of lipglass in this collection. I like lustreglasses because they are a little bit thinner in consistency compared to the lipglass and are not as sticky, and the shine/gloss is outrageous. I was drawn to Bateaux and Hey Sailor the most because they suit my complexion better. Bateaux is described as neutral brown peach with white frost, while Hey Sailor is described as blue plum pink with white pearl flecks. Both sound and look ultra-yummy!

Of course, I found Buoy-o-Buoy and Party Mate lipsticks quite pretty, and they are essentially the lipstick counterparts of my chosen Bateaux and Hey Sailor lustreglasses.

I was also drawn to the Stowaways quad and really loved Crest the Waves (Light, frosty yellow with yellow and white pearl). It's just a shame that I have a lot of colors similar to the other three shadows in the quad, and I have two Satin Taupes as well. Nonetheless, the combination of the colors is just gorgeous and would look pretty on just about any skintone.

As for the pigments, Lovely Lily is a repromote from an earlier collection, and Mutiny reminded me so much of Azreal Blue. Lark About is a pretty, light and versatile color, as is Bell Bottom Blue. They would make for lovely spring and summer looks and are absolutely nice additions to anybody's pigment collections.

All in all, this collection has a little something for everybody, especially someone who loves blues, lilacs, pinks, and even yellows. The colors are pretty but not that unique, although if you are just building your collection, several classic colors can be snagged from this collection. I also believe the Stowaways quad is a real winner and is a must-have for anybody who doesn't have those colors yet.

A nice MA also gave me a sample of MAC's loose mineralized foundation in Medium Plus (she recommended that shade), and I was surprised to see that it's a perfect match. MAC's mineral foundation is not exclusively made from minerals, but I am pleased with the ultra-smooth and non-matte finish, although it is not shiny either. It just gives a soft glow that I really loved. The coverage is light to medium but it is very buildable, and I am also quite elated to know that it didn't break me out.

Hey Aileen! You look fresh and beautiful as always. I was wondering what you thought of the MAC Minerlized loose? I've been using it for the past month and LOVE it (I'm a MMU fan) and always wondered what you thought. I know earlier you had mentioned you didn't care for the extra ingredients this has, but I really love and think it's lasting power was definitely work a look. Have a good day!

Hi Pia! I am really liking MAC's mineralize loose foundation. I didn't think I would because it's not made of pure minerals and because I break out easily, but it was a pleasant surprise. I like how light it felt but the coverage was buildable, and the finish is flawless and smooth. Good to know that you're liking it, and yes I ate my words this time. :) Thank you for the kind words and thanks for dropping by.

lily- Crest the Wave is my favorite shadow in the NN collection along with Illegal Cargo. ;-)
