Coastal Scents: Review and FOTD

I had the pleasure of trying out some of Coastal Scents' new cosmetic products and I can really say that these are really high-end, high-quality minerals and cosmetic tools. I especially loved the eyeshadows, the eyeliner pencil, and although I have not tried their brushes yet, I have read rave reviews about them. I also incorporated some of the shadows in a look that I am featuring in this entry.

There were some products from Coastal Scents that really intrigued me, like the crescent shadow fluff brush that you see in the picture. I stared at it for several minutes, trying to figure out how to use it. Do I sweep this over the lid like a regular shader brush? Do I line my lashline using this, following the curvature of the eye? It turns out that this was meant to apply two different colors of minerals by dipping opposite ends of the brush into different minerals. Cool, huh? By the way, Coastal Scents' brushes are on sale right now at 20% off, but better hurry because the sale ends soon!

Another product that intrigued me was their new Pencil Me In Natural Liner. I sooo love this product because just as the description pointed out, this pencil is very creamy but doesn't break easily. It glides smoothly on skin but it's not too flimsy that it would break at the slightest pressure. They have thirty beautiful, yummy colors of these babies to choose from. Moreover, it has a very nifty sharpener built into the cap. No need to scrounge around for a sharpener on those manic mornings. This is also perfect for travel. These eye pencils contain anti-oxidants and vitamins which help to protect the eye area from daily exposure to destructive elements. For $6.99, the price is pretty reasonable too, considering that the ingredients are all-natural and are made for sensitive eyes. All natural ingredients, built-in sharpener, lots of shades to choose from, doesn't smudge but goes on smoothly, reasonably-priced - what more can you ask for?

Lastly, I tried their eyeshadows and I really love Rose Sparks. This is the perfect eyeshadow wash for me, and it can be layered to be as sheer or as dramatic as you want. I wore this with Adorned With Grace Minerals shadows (stay tuned for a separate review on these), as well as Coastal Scents' Hi Light Violet shadow, and Dare blush. This blush is a real favorite of mine. It gives a glow without being too sparkly, and it is not uberly pigmented that it can cause clown cheeks. I also like the fact that it goes on really smooth and doesn't cause ugly splotches of color on the face.

the crescent brush is fun - you get 2 horizontal lines of shadow on your lid, so one kind of looks like eyeliner.

love your earrings!

mayaari- thanks! I would have to try it out myself. It looks intimidating though!

Chrissy-thanks girl! I love dramatic drop earrings too, but I just feel they are too much for work but on weekends they're just fab, and I think they go well with my short hair too. :)

mhean - gah! I will do my tag post but since I am flying out of town, it might take a while to get published. :)

vanessa- I bet you'd look great (as usual) using Coastal Scents minerals. You can wear sand foiled on your eyes and still look great. =D

Hey
I just wanted to ask, if you have tried out the Pencil Me In Natural? Especially I would like to know how does it stay on the waterline? Does is fade quickly from there? And how intense will the colour stay (eg when I would like to use white)?
