Joppa's 45-Eyeshadow Sampler and MAD Minerals

I received my Joppa package containing my goat milk soap, Simple Radiance finishing silk in Medium that I got on sale, and my 45-pc eyeshadow sampler. I forgot to take pics of my Simple Radiance but it's in a huge pot with a powder puff; it looked very pretty and professional. The Medium shade just blended into my skin perfectly, and the result looks really polished, almost airbrushed, just like my favorite finishing powders like Bare Escentual's mineral veil, Monave Angel finishing powder and Silk Naturals' Sheer and Date Bait finishing powders. Since this has silk, I thought it would be a lot less matte but it didn't look that way. It's just a little less flat but it's not uber-glowy either. I will make a more detailed review once I take another round of photos.

I tried the eyeshadow samples and I have to note that the texture is very different from the other mineral shadows that I've tried. It's less shimmery, creamier, has a slight drag but not too much, which is what I prefer, actually. It has a very creamy, satin-y texture which is perfect if you don't like your shadows very shimmery. I really love how earthy, rich and velvety the shades are. I did some swatches using a slightly dampened brush.

Applied with no base

The finish of the eyeshadows actually reminded me of some of my MAC shadows applied dry over shadestick or paint pot as base. We'll see though if the staying power is just as good as MAC's. I'm wearing Joppa eyeshadows right now and I am loving them. The color pay-off is not as good as MAC's, though, but they will do, especially for natural looks.

I also bought a bunch of MAD mineral eyeshadows. Now these babies are pigmented with a capital P (but shimmery with a capital S as well).

I can't wait to try out MAD minerals, and will post a review once I do.
