MAC Moisturelush: Product Photos and Review

I had the chance to try out these newly-released moisturizer and eye cream from MAC, and all I can talk about right now are first impressions because this is the first time I've used either one. I cannot say how effective these will be in the long-run, but my experience tonight wasn't bad at all.

First of all, I love MAC's lip, eye and cheek products, but I am wary of foundations and moisturizers because my skin is very acne-prone. That said, I just applied the moisturizer on my cheeks where I am less oily. The first thing that attacked my senses was the heavenly scent of this product. It was not overpowering; just a delightful, subtle scent that smells so clean. I read that almond oil is one of its ingredients, so I think that might be part of what my olfactory nerves detected. This product is likewise being touted by MAC as a moisturizer and makeup primer in one, it basically preps the skin for the application of cosmetics by making it soft and supple, blurring lines and smoothing out imperfections and reducing the appearance of pores. I have not used it under makeup so I can't review it based on that claim, but it does make my skin feel very smooth. I also love the texture and consistency of this cream - it is neither too thick nor runny, and it doesn't feel slimy either. It is just of the perfect consistency for me, because I hate thick, sticky moisturizers.

It is actually the eye cream that excited me more because I am on a never-ending search for the perfect eye cream. I am currently using DERMADoctor Wrinkle Revenge Eye Balm due to rave reviews online, and so far I am loving it. However, that doesn't mean I'm closing my doors to all other eye creams that are knocking. When I tried MAC's Moisturelush eye cream, I immediately felt the suppleness at the eye area. This thing is really moisturizing, and it feels very pleasant. I just hope it lives up to its claims of firming and lifting the skin around the eye. I will keep you posted on that. For now, though, I am loving the texture, feel, consistency, and the skin-smoothing and moisturizing properties of the Moisturelush twin products.
