MAC Barbie and Then Some

I cannot believe how this collection has quickly driven fans into a frenzy, so much so that it already has a cult of its own. I read MAC message boards online and I am amazed at how many people are going gaga over it. The MAC Barbie doll has sold out both on the MAC site and at the free-standing stores mere hours after it has gone up for sale. People lined up at the free-standing stores just to snag one (or a couple) of the dolls. Barbie Loves MAC dolls on eBay fetch exorbitant, unbelievable prices, skyrocketing to more than $300 a piece. Frankly I don't get the hype. I am not into collecting Barbies anyway, although I must admit, the makeup collection is beautiful. The eyeshadows have great color payoff and have good pigmentation. Moth Brown is a re-released color, makes for a gorgeous crease color, and this has attained cult status as well and was one of the more coveted limited edition eyeshadows before it was re-released. Springtime Skipper is a beautiful green, very similar to Golders Green pigment, but I snagged it all the same because I found the color and packaging (particularly the Barbie imprint) especially pretty. Here is my Barbie loot with the Refined Golden bronzer (for contouring and to lend a warm, bronzey sheen to the face) that I just bought.

And here is my mug shot using some of the Barbie stuff and mineral makeup (used Monave foundation and Valerie illuminating powder in Satin Sun). Please take note that this has been taken 10 hours after I did my eyeshadows, so the colors were not that intense/vivid.
