MAC Rocky Horror Picture Show: Riff-Raff Eye Shadow Palette and It's Not Easy Having a Good Time Pigment Swatches, Look, Review

I already posted my review, look and swatches of the MAC Rocky Horror Show Lipsticks that I have.  This time, let's talk about the lone eye shadow palette from this collection called Riff-Raff eye shadow, and the pigment called It's Not Easy Having a Good Time.

Let's start first with MAC Riff-Raff eye shadow palette.

MAC Riff-Raff Eye Shadow looked boring to me at first, but it kinda warmed to me in the end, just because I am a sucker for purples and browns, and I particularly liked the violet duo-chrome with pearl called Crystal.  MAC Crystal is great for the lid or to blend gradient colors together.  I am also liking the silver and blues thrown in the palette, like Heavy, Black and Pendulous, a grayish blue with pearl in the frost formula, and I particularly like Graphic Style, a deep silver in the veluxe pearl formula.

Carbon is a staple in many of MAC's palettes, and which is okay, but if you have already have Carbon in your collection, it's like your paying a premium just to have a duplicate one.  Oh, Rocky! is the soft muted off-white with pearl in the frost formula, which is the only highlighter shade.

It was quite easy for me to create a look using this palette, because the different combinations of colors can be mixed and matched to create a pretty look.  In the look above, I used Crystal on the lid and Oh, Rocky!!! on the browbone and inner corners to highlight.  I used Graphic Style, Carbon and Heavy, Black and Pendulous on the crease and outer lid.

If you don't have these colors yet, I think this palette is a good pick.

I am not particularly a fan of pigments because I have not been using loose pigments in quite a while, and I am wary of the potential mess and fall-out.  That said, if you are looking for a sparkling burgundy pigment to spice up your holiday look, this might be for you.  I think this is also a great to put in clear nail polish and create your very own customized sparkling burgundy nail lacquer.

All in all, I think the MAC Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of the better collections from MAC this year.  Some pieces are undewhelming, but I think the stars of the collection are the lipsticks, just because they are super pigmented, vibrant and the matte texture is just amazing, followed by MAC Riff-Raff eye shadow palette.

What do you think of the MAC Rocky Horror Picture Show collection?
