OPI Fall 2014: Nordic Collection Swatches, Review

Fall is almost here! OPI comes up with new shades for fall in the new Nordic Collection. I've been wearing mostly neons and hot, bright shades, that I kinda liked wearing these new vampy, muted, dusky shades from this collection.

 

Here are my swatches and thoughts on the new OPI Nordic collection:

OPI Going My Way or Norway?

 

OPI Going My Way or Norway? is a nice, cafe au lait kind of brown cream. It looks really clean and professional on the nails - a nice office color.

 

OPI Ice-Bergers & Fries

OPI Ice-Bergers & Fries

OPI Ice-Bergers & Fries is a pretty mid-brown cream. This is actually my favorite from the browns in this collection. It's not too dark nor too light, and the shade is perfect as background for any nail art - be it glitter or nail stamp.

 

OPI How Great Is Your Dane?

OPI How Great Is Your Dane?

OPI How Great Is Your Dane? is a brown-grey cream. This is also a nice brown. It looks quite edgy and is the perfect color for fall and winter.

OPI With a Nice Finn-ish

 

OPI With a Nice Finn-ish

 

OPI With a Nice Finn-ish is a bronzey kind of metallic gold. It looks very festive and yet classy on the nails. This is also one of my favorites from this collection.

OPI Can't Afjord Not To

 

OPI Can't Afjord Not To looks more of a summer bright orange under direct sunlight, but it looks more muted, like a pumpkin orange under shade I also love this color because it morphs from bright to dusty.

OPI Suzi Has A Swede Tooth

OPI Suzi Has A Swede Tooth

 

OPI Suzi Has A Swede Tooth also looks like a bright summery pink under direct sunlight, but it's much more muted indoors or under shade. It's a nice, feminine pink. I do have a lot of pinks similar to this, but I like the formula of this one.

OPI My Voice is A Little Norse over Suzi Has A Swede Tooth

 

OPI My Voice is A Little Norse has a lot of minute holographic glitter particles suspended in a clear base. This is a glitter topper for all the cream polishes from this collection. I do have a lot of glitter toppers, so this is not very unique in my nail polish collection.

OPI My Dogsled Is A Hybrid

 

OPI My Dogsled Is A Hybrid is gorgeous! It's such a beautiful dusty mint green cream. I love how it looks muted, putting in the fall color category. It was also a great background color for my nail stamp art, and the formula is amazing.

OPI Thank Glogg It's Friday!

 

OPI Thank Glogg It's Friday! is a cranberry red shimmer with a duochrome to it. I see flashes of purple in the bottle which adds some dimension to the nail look. Not very unique to my collection, but I like how dark the shade is indoors, but bright and shimmery out in the sun.

OPI Do You Have This Color In Stock-Holm?

 

OPI Do You Have This Color In Stock-Holm? is a gorgeous, dark blue-based purple cream. I cannot get over this color. It also morphs from being a purple yam-colored cream under the sun, but a bright cobalt blue under shade. This is really pretty and my favorite purple-blue from this collection.

 

OPI Skating On Thin Ice-land

 

OPI Skating On Thin Ice-land is a red-based purple, the color of red grapes. This is a bit streaky and the formula was not as great as compared to the other one from this collection. It does look pretty and is a great color for fall.

 

OPI Viking in A Vinter Vonderland

 

OPI Viking in a Vinter Vonderland is an inky blue-purple cream. I like how it looks almost black but it's actually and inky purple. This is also one of the colors that I'm particularly liking from this collection.

 

All in all, with the exception of one of the colors, the formula of these is, as always, great and effortless. They are quite easy to apply on the nails despite the vampy colors. I am really loving My Dogsled is a Hybrid, Viking in a Vinter Vonderland (the name is flat-out hilarious), Do You Have This Color In Stock-Holm?, Ice-Bergers and Fries and Can't Afjord Not To.

These colors are mostly vampy purples and blues, with a few dusty brighter colors thrown in, like coral/orange, mint green and pink. These are mostly creams, with one glitter topper and a couple of shimmery metallic shades. If you are into these shades, then this collection is for you.
