IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 Matte Palette Swatches, Review

I've always wanted an all-matte eye shadow palette.  I've had palettes where 50% of the colors are matte, but I've always wished for an all-matte one.  Now, my wish came true with the IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 palette.  It was always sold out on QVC, so I was glad to snag this on the ULTA website.  I was so excited when I received this, with a nice packet full of product samples thrown in the package.

Let me get this out of the way and say that I am not really into the packaging.  The palette has a velvet cover in this blush pink that looks a little on the dirty pink side.  It does not look appealing to me.  However, I can easily get over the packaging if the product is good.

This eyeshadow palette has 14 matte shadows, and a transforming pearl shadow roughly twice the size of each matte shadow.  The Transforming Pearl transforms every matte shadow into a pearl finish. This is like getting 28 shadows in this palette - 14 mattes and 14 shimmers.

Most of the eye shadows are pigmented and smooth.  They apply really well and are buttery on the skin.  As with some matte shadows, the darker the color is, the more pigmented and less chalky it looks.

Below are some swatches.

As I'd mentioned above, the darker the colors are, the more rich the pigmentation is, as you can see in the swatches.  I especially love the darker colors like Mocha, Violet, Midnight and Noir.  They really make you think of beautiful ways to use these as crease colors. They are pretty much velvety smooth and glide like butter on the lids.

The lighter ones are okay, but Sheer Joy is the one that hardly showed up on my skin.

All in all, if you like mattes, or are into photography or videos and you don't want your makeup to clash with the flash or lights, this palette is for you.  This would also make a great palette for bridal work.

The IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 Matte Palette is available at ULTA and other retailers for $42 each.
