MAC Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting Cream SPF 30 Swatches, Review

MAC CC Colour Correct SPF 30 cream in Adjust, Neutralize, Illuminate

I already created a video review on the entire MAC Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting line - Loose Powder, Compact and Cream with SPF30.  This time, however, is a written review on the CC Cream.  I have four products shown, but I only have three swatches because one of them is a duplicate of the other (I got two MAC CC Colour Correct Creams in Adjust).

As I'd mentioned in my MAC Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting Loose Powder Swatches and Review, MAC CC Colour Correcting Cream SPF30 is a welcome part of the permanent collection. It is, as the name suggests, a color-correcting product line that neutralizes dark spots, brightens the complexion and gives the illusion of more even-toned skin.

We know that opposing colors in the color wheel cancel each other. Yellow cancels purple, lavender cancels yellow, salmon or apricot color neutralizes blue, and peach-beige shade brightens.

MAC comes up with three new products that aim to color correct. MAC now has the MAC Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting Loose Powder, the MAC Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting Compact, and the MAC Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting SPF 30 that comes in a tube and is a cream product. I will be discussing all of these lines on this blog.

As I've stated in my previous review, my favorite product across all the CC Colour Correcting lines is the yellow product or Neutralize. It is supposed to be a product that neutralizes blue, so I love to use this on my undereye area to lessen the appearance of undereye circles. It also brightens my eye area and makes me look more rested, which I love.

As I said in my previous reviews, I am not a fan of the Recharge or the apricot color; and although it is not in the swatches because I don't have it in the cream formula, I've tried the loose and compact variants to know that the color is way too dark for my skintone.

I also love the Adjust or the peachy beige shade- this one truly brightens any area subtly, so I can use this on discolored areas or on my cheekbones.

I don't use much of the Lavender color or Illuminate, but this is perfect to combat sallow-looking skin.

All in all, I am liking the shades of these MAC Prep + Prime CC Colour Correcting Cream SPF 30 products, with the exception of the apricot one.  I don't particularly use them all over my face, though (I apply them only on targeted areas that need color correction), so I don't understand the SPF30  protection if it will only protect a portion of the face.

Nonetheless, the color-correcting qualities are quite helpful, and I am really liking the line, especially Neutralize (yellow).

Have you tried MAC's CC Colour Correcting line?  Thoughts?
