Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

I have a quite oily t-zone, and since spring is upon us and summer is just around the corner, I need a foundation that will really control my oily t-zone that really shifts into high gear during warmer months.  At the same time, I don't want an intensely matte, caked-on foundation.  I want something that would give a really smooth, flawless finish, control my oilies, and also give a nice soft matte finish.  A tall order?

I was able to try the Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation.  The brand claims that it has a liquid mousse texture, offers shine control for the perfect matte finish.  Rimmel touts it as the first "mousse in a tube", and I was really excited to try this one out.

As you can see in the swatches above, the Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation does have a mousse-like texture - a whipped kind of texture that looks and feels interesting.

Below are my below and after photos:

Wearing Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

In the photo above, I am wearing Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation in shade 203 True Beige.  I can say it's the perfect shade for my skintone.  I applied the product using a damp makeup sponge, and it just blended effortlessly and the finish is quite flawless.  The one thing that's different about this foundation is that since it's a mousse instead of a liquid, it doesn't feel oily on the skin.  I also love that it's not goopy or runny.  Coverage is very good.  I would say this is a medium to full coverage foundation depending on application, but this leans more toward full coverage.  I love how it conceals my blemishes without looking too thick.  I also like that this does not have any fragrance as I am sensitive to scents.

It feels lightweight and delivers shine control, and yet gives a soft matte finish that does not look caked-on and mask-like.  I absolutely love the finish of this product.  It looks flawless and yet natural.

The best part is that since this product has a matte finish, it is perfect for flash photography or photography/video in general, since this does not clash with the flash and it minimizes shine on the skin.  As a blogger and YouTuber, I am constantly under bright lights and taking photos of my makeup, so this kind of soft matte finish is perfect.  I will be making the Stay Matte Switch, especially for the warmer months!
