OPI Holiday 2013: Mariah Carey Collection Swatches, Review Part 1

OPI Holiday 2013: Mariah Carey Collection

I was very excited to swatch and play with the OPI Holiday 2013, just because I've been a lifelong fan of Ms. Carey.  Here are my swatches of the OPI Mariah Carey Collection and my thoughts on them.

OPI Wonderous Star

OPI Holiday 2013 Mariah Carey Nail Lacquer, Wonderous Star
is a unique glitter, in my opinion.  It has gold, flakey type glitter with black round glitter interspersed among the gold flakies  I like the unusual combination.

OPI Holiday 2013 Mariah Carey Nail Lacquer, My Favorite Ornament

To be honest, I don't find anything unique in OPI My Favorite Ornament.  It's similar to many champagne glitter polishes that I own.  That said, it does look very clean on the nails, very festive and bling-y.  If you're not feeling red as a holiday color, try a glittery champagne.

OPI Holiday 2013 Mariah Carey Nail Lacquer, Ski Slope Sweetie

OPI Ski Slope Sweetie is a very pretty mother-of-pearl shimmer.  I am honestly not sure if this flatters my skintone, but I am so in love with the shade.  It's the perfect polish to go with your elegant pearls to a formal event.

Opi Nail Lacquer, All Sparkly and Gold

OPI All Sparkly and Gold reminds me of my MAC Reflects Antique Gold glitter- I can almost swear they're made of the same stuff.  I like the combination of micro black and gold glitter.

Opi Nail Lacquer, Warm Me Up

OPI Warm Me Up is hands-down my favorite shade in the collection.  It's such a beautiful grey shade.  OPI describes this color as a "spiced coffee".  I like how this color is perfect for fall - dark, rich, vampy and yet sophisticated.

OPI Holiday 2013 Mariah Carey Nail Lacquer, I Snow You Love Me over Warm Me Up

I love how huge the glitters are in OPI I Snow You Love Me - huge round holographic glitter that is just very eye-catching and attractive.  The only gripe that I have is that the glitters are sparse and hard to fish out from the bottle.  You need to pour a little bit of the product onto a cardboard and carefully pick up the glitter to strategically place on the nails.

All in all, for this Part 1 of the OPI Holiday 2013 Mariah Carey Collection, I am loving the fine glitter lacquers from this collection, especially Wonderous Star and All Sparkly and Gold.  I would have loved I Snow You Love Me if the glitters aren't so sparse.

The best color for me is hands-down Warm Me Up- such a beautiful, edgy fall color.

Which ones are your faves?  Watch out for Part 2 of the OPI Holiday 2013 Mariah Carey Collection!
