JulieG Holiday 2012 Nail Polish Swatches, Review

What are your nail looks this coming holiday? You want something festive, blingy, metallic, gold or silver to welcome the festivities. Julie G nail polish comes up with really fun, bright and glittery shades that aptly describe and usher in the holidays.

I was able to try two of the shades from JulieG's holiday collection, and here are my thoughts and swatches.

JulieG Ornamental is a really nice vintage yellow gold. It's not a deep golden yellow, but more of a light yellow gold. This reminds me of the 70s kind of gold that I often saw in my mom's jewelry or some of the vintage decor from that era. I like that it's not a deeper kind of gold as I really like this sort of vintagey shade. It's a metallic and it really looks quite festive.

JulieG Light It Up is a multi-color glitter topcoat. It is meant to be layered over other nail polishes for some bling-bling effect. This is not a very unique polish as I have seen many brands come up with multi-colored glitter topcoat like this, and one of the first ones to come up in the market was Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday. Since then, almost every nail polish company has its own version of this. Nonetheless, Light It Up is truly festive and would spruce up even the most boring cremes.

All in all, I liked the ones I tried from the JulieG holiday collection, especially Ornamental.

These polishes are limited edition and are available at Rite Aid stores and Jessesgirlcosmetics.com for $3.99 each.
