China Glaze Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away Swatches, Review Part 1

China Glaze partnered with Paramount Pictures to offer an exclusive collection of nail polishes inspired by the upcoming film, "Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away" in theaters December 21st.

China Glaze features 12 new shades of nail polish for this collection, and this is the first time I've seen China Glaze come up with indie-nail lacquer-esque glitters.

Here are the first six shades and my thoughts on them.

Running in Circles is an amazing shade. This is probably my top favorite out of the 12 shades. It's a gorgeous cilantro green shimmer that is very pretty either under direct sunlight or indoors. The foily green looks very festive and perfect for the holidays.

China Glaze Creative Fantasy (sunlight)

For some reason, my camera couldn't capture Creative Fantasy- it's always blurred and soft around the edges especially under shade. It's a grape purple neon and has the usual matte finish of neons. It's pretty but I would always apply a shiny topcoat because I am not a fan of matte neons.

China Glaze Surreal Approach (sunlight)

Surreal Approach is probably the prettiest shade out of all the 12 new polishes. This is such a head-turning coral creme. I used to not like coral shades because they make my skintone look dirty, but it does the exact opposite- it looks nice and clean on the nails.

China Glaze Escaping Reality (sunlight)

Escaping Reality is also a really nice shade, a matte neon raspberry pink. I just prefer Surreal Approach as the latter is more unique. Escaping Reality is a pretty hot pink that looks great layered with glitter or worn on its own.

China Glaze Bend Over Backwards (sunlight)

Bend Over Backwards is an unusual pepper red shimmer. I love the warm red tones, and the unique shade is a plus.

China Glaze Def Defying (sunlight)

Another beauty. Def Defying is a lime green creme which looks gorgeous, but it's not that unique as I can count at least 5 of these kinds of shades in my stash. Nonetheless, it's a great shade and I can't wait to wear this in the spring (or even winter!).

All in all, I find the shades really beautiful, and the formula is good and was a cinch to apply. I especially like Running in Circles, Def Defying, Bend Over Backwards and Surreal Appeal.

Watch out for Part 2 of the China Glaze Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away Swatches (the glitter batch)!
