MAC Pro Longwear Eye Shadows L-R: More Amour, Linger Softly, Fashion Fix, Mauveless

MAC Pro Longwear Eye Shadow, we meet again.  This Pro Longwear product by MAC was released last year in the MAC Fall Colour collection, and I was looking forward to trying them out again.   Last year's Pro Longwear Eye Shadows had the shimmer of regular MAC shadows like veluxe pearls, but this year's offerings all have a matte or satin finish.  I kinda like that MAC went on a matte route this time because I've been missing mattes.  I think the finish helped the longevity a bit because these new ones lasted longer on my lids as compared to last year's Pro Longwear Eye Shadow.

Since these new Pro Longwears are matte/satin, they do have to be blended more carefully to soften the harsh edges.  Nonetheless, they look nicer and have more of a depth to the shades because of the matte finish.  The shades are softer, less garish, and are perfect for fall and winter.

Every Ivory is a pale cream that is a nice, soft, yellow-toned highlight color.  Bloom On is a light burnt rose.  I saw this MA at the MAC counter wear a really pretty Bloom On shadow on her crease to blend the darker shades.  The light rose shade gave a really nice dimension to her eye look and softened the entire eye makeup.  Uninterrupted is a dark camel that is the darker cousin of Always Sunny which is a light yellow brown.  More Amour is a midtone red, while Linger Softly is a light frosted grey blue.  My favorite is Fashion Fix, a beautiful dark cool slate grey that is the perfect crease, outer V and smokey eye color to give depth to the eye look.  Mauveless is a dark dirty mauve that I find interesting as well because it's like a darker version of Bloom On.

As I said, all in all, I like this year's Pro Longwear Eye Shadow better than last year's.  I think MAC has improved the formula significantly because I could see that they used the same matte/satin finish and texture for the Pro Longwear Blush which actually did pretty good in the staying power department (more on that in my next entry so stay tuned!).  This year's Pro Longwear eye shadow has more depth and dimension compared to last year's crop which were mostly shimmery shades.  The mattes and satins in this year's offering looked better in photos, created dimension and depth, and overall stayed longer on the lids compared to last year's collection.
