Urban Decay The Revolution High-Performance Lash Curler Review
I believe many of you have already heard or tried the Urban Decay The Revolution High Performance lash curler. The first time I laid my eyes on it, I was really intimidated because it looked scary. It looked like some kind of torturing device. I don't know why I thought of it that way, because the traditional lash curler looks more like a gadget of torture than this new one from Urban Decay. Traditional curlers have cages that pinch and tug at my eyelids, causing a considerable amount of pain. I have to position my lashes at just the right angle with traditional curlers, or else it's going to pinch my lids.
The Revolution lash curler by Urban Decay is indeed a revolutionized way of curling your lashes. It has an open cage design (or it's better called no-cage design) that lets you curl all your lashes without pinching your skin. It has a shiny gunmetal finish with a spring at the back that is always taut unlike traditional curlers.
You have to try it to believe it. The first time I tried this, I was so intimidated that I thought it was not working. I almost gave it away. The reason for that, I later found out, was that I was using the curler too far away from my lashes that it wasn't curling them at all! That was the trauma I got from traditional curlers - I didn't want the curler to get too close to my lashes. The thing is, even though The Revolution comes way too close to the lashline, it still does NOT pinch the skin. It's amazing. When I did use the curler very close to my lashline, then I noticed that it did work. It curls lashes effortlessly and without pain.
I also like that it comes with five replacement pads instead of the usual one extra pad of traditional curlers. Saves me money in the long run. It is a little pricey at $20 a pop, but other premium traditional curlers have the same price range. I'd rather pay and not have my lids pinched everytime I curl my lashes.
I didn't post pics of my curled lashes using The Revolution because it just does what every normal, traditional lash curler does - curl your lashes, just without the pain!
