Orly Mineral FX Swatches and Review

I found the Orly Mineral FX collection at my local Sally's around the end of August, and I was super excited to get my grubby hands on them. They were some of the prettiest Orlys I've seen in a while, and of course the best ones since Orly Cosmic FX that was released last fall. I bought all six because they were all really beautiful. They have these gorgeous specks of shimmer with duochrome going on. They also have this really glass-like shimmery finish that does not look like chunky glitter, but are just hypnotic to look at. Here are the swatches:

Rock the World

Rock the World

Rock the World is another close cousin of Orly Ingenue and Oui from the Holiday Soiree collection, as well as Zoya Faye, OPI It's My Year and Rally Pretty Pink. However, Rock the World has a distinctly darker reddish-purple base with the same gold shimmer flecks. I love these kinds of finishes so I am not complaining about the duplicity of this shade.

Emberstone

I hated Emberstone in the bottle, but I was floored when I was looking at the swatches. It looks amazing! It's like a bright coral-red with gold and copper shimmery flecks. Reminds me of my MAC lipglass creation, Sonoran Rain, but less red and more on the orange side. Can be a good summer shade too.

Rock-It

Rock-It is another fave. It is a very pigmented, deep, dark wine saturated with duochrome gold shimmer flecks. I love how rich the color is.

Stone Cold

Blue shimmer on steroids. Stone Cold is the most ridiculously micro-glittery, shimmery blue I own. I think this is the star of the collection. This is insanely gorgeous, a must-have!

Rock Solid

Rock Solid is another popular shade from the collection. It is a gunmetal grey with holo glitter and myriad-colored micro-glitter (blue, silver, green, gold, orange). Beautiful in real life, especially if you like edgy shades like grey with a bit of a colorful, sparkly twist.

Rococo A-Go-Go

I forgot to swatch this on my nails, so pardon the nail wheel swatch! Another breathtaking color. Rococo A-Go-Go is a vampy dark purple with pinkish mauve shimmer specks. Very similar to Zoya Valerie which I also own. Love, love, love.

Formula of these is great. These are opaque in two coats, but I used three coats for the swatches so that the color will translate properly even against the harsh glare of the sun. I love how saturated, sparkly, and beautiful these shades are. Orly FX series polishes are always a bit more expensive than the regular line, but these are really amazing colors that I think I can justify the price increase.

My favorites are - actually, all of them. My most favorite however are Rock the World and Rock Solid, also Rococo A-Go-Go.
