The Grand Finale duo

They're finally here! I was able to try these new SOLID eye shadows from Bare Minerals called READY. As I've mentioned in a previous entry, I've always loved Bare Minerals shadows (if you read through my blog, you'd see that I've been a big fan of mineral makeup since the beginning), but many are turned off by the loose pigments and messy application. These new pressed eye shadows from Bare Minerals have the same pigmentation, buttery glide, and pure ingredients as the loose products, but in a less-messy, more convenient form. These shadows are infused with Bare Escentuals' proprietary Sea Nutritive Mineral Complex, composed of positively charged sea minerals from nutrient-rich algae and seaweed. As with all Bare Escentuals shadows, these new READY shadows are free of binders, fillers, parabens and harsh chemicals.

The packaging was a pleasant surprise. They come in a really sturdy, classy black packaging with a rubberized feel, and they remind me so much of NARS eyeshadow and blush packaging. They feel luxurious and not cheap at all.

Here are some swatches:

The Dream Sequence quad is a family of pinks, purples and a shimmery taupe. I love the surprise taupe color, which actually goes well with all the pinks. I also love that Bare Minerals included different finishes in this quad. There are two shimmery shadows and two somewhat satin or matte in finish. The swatches show that these are quite pigmented and are not patchy on the skin when applied.

The Grand Finale duo

I love this duo. The colors are very pigmented, rich, and glide like a dream on the skin. The gold is such a festive color, and it is great that they paired it with a metallic cobalt blue. Such fierce combination! The gold will work as a lid color and the blue as an outer lid/crease or liner color.

All in all, I am loving the total package of these new solid shadows. The packaging looks sleek and classy. I also like that they included applicators for those touch-ups that you need, so this is perfect for travel. The pigmentation is also great, and wear is also a good 8 hours especially if you use a good eyeshadow base. They also glide well on the skin.

The new Bare Minerals READY Eye Shadows, quads and duos will launch on September 29, 2011.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
