OPI Texas Collection Swatches and Review Part I

So I got the entire OPI Texas collection from my neighborhood independent beauty supply store for quite cheap. They even threw in the display for me for free! Six of the shades have a "sorbet" finish - they are kind of jellies but creamier, fluffier, and in my opinion a lot better than the regular jellies (which I honestly am not a fan of).

I will be swatching six of the shades today, and I will post the rest of the shades pretty soon!

San Tan-tonio

San Tan-tonio is described as a honey or tan colored, but I see some gold undertones to it. I like it because it's very understated and would look great as an office mani. If you prefer to be more adventurous, you can apply Konad images on it or even add a contrasting shade of China Glaze Crackle over it (which I will be reviewing soon as well).

It's Totally Fort Worth It

It's Totally Fort Worth It is described as a lavender grey, but I don't see much lavender in it when the light hits it. If you look closely, though, you see little pink flecks in the frosty base. If you don't like frosts, stay away from this, but this looks really nice and clean on the tips.

I Vant To Be A-Lone Star

One of my favorites. I Vant To Be A-Lone Star is a pretty sky-blue, almost silver grey in color. I like how this one looks against my skintone.

Big Hair, Big Nails

OPI Black Shatter over Big Hair, Big Nails

This is one of the polishes with the "sorbet" finish. It goes on sheer, but creamier and with a lot nicer finish than the jellies. It's described as a rosy pageant peach. What is a "pageant" peach anyway? I usually don't go for these colors but I like it because I like the formula.

Y'all Come Back Ya Hear?

Y'all Come Back Ya Hear? is another one of those sorbet finishes, and I like this better than Big Hair, Big Nails. I like the tangerine shade and it reminds me of everything about spring and summer.

Suzi Loves Cowboys

Another one of my favorites. Suzi Loves Cowboys is described as a campfire chocolate s'mores shade. It's the perfect dark chocolate shade for my skintone, and I like that it doesn't pull red on me at all. I'm wearing it today and I love how it can also be a nice neutral for work.

All in all, I have seen some of these colors before, but I like that OPI has a new formula for all of us to test. The sorbets are a lot better for me than the jellies. They are indeed "fluffier", in the sense that it doesn't settle too low on the nailbed, much creamier and better looking than jellies. Clean-up is a breeze too.

Watch out for the next six swatches of the Texas collection.
