OPI Swiss Collection Swatches Part II: Shimmers

Here is part II of the OPI Swiss Collection swatches. This time, here are the pretty shimmers! I think for the first time ever, I am loving the shimmers more than the cremes, since I am a creme formula lover. However, for some reason, I am liking how the shimmer shades totally complemented the frosty/shimmery/glittery finish. And the fusion of the shades and the shimmer totally screams "fall" or even "holiday" for me.

Glitzerland is a nice shimmery yellow gold bathed in micro-glitter. Super shimmery! The glitter particles are very small though and are non-gritty in finish. So holiday-esque and one of my favorites. This is quite sheer and I used 3 coats.

Lucern-tainly Look Marvelous is gorgeous! It is a silver micro-glitter frenzy in charcoal base. Definitely reminds me of Zoya Freja or China Glaze Jitterbug, but Lucern-tainly Look Marvelous looks more glittery as opposed to frosty in my eyes. This is also as sheer as Glitzerland and this is three coats.

OPI Yodel Me On My Cell is basically a teal frost. It's not that unique because I've seen so many shades like this, but of course it is really pretty. The finish is not so common, however: it is very shimmery because although it is not your regular '80s frost, it has glass-like shimmer as well as little blue shimmery particles. Lovely especially if you don't have this color yet.

Diva in Geneva is like a chameleon.  Under bright sunlight it is almost magenta or fuchsia with lots of purple undertones, yet morphs into a lovely garnet/ruby-plum shade with an insane amount of gloss or shimmer under the shade. So pretty.

Cuckoo For This Color is an apt name because I am going bonkers over this polish. It is a gorgeous green blue shimmer that looks more glass-like the longer I stare at it. It is of course similar to China Glaze's Emerald Fitzgerald, but Cuckoo For This Color is a bit bluer. They are almost the same in finish and in their ability to impress me with their gorgeous hue.

The Color To Watch is my least favorite out of all the Shimmers. And to think I am a sucker for lilac/lavender polishes. I just think the color clashed with the very shimmery/frosty finish; it looks too dated (think '70s and '80s) for me. Color is pretty though and great for work or as an everyday polish. This is very sheer and I used four coats to make it work. It has lots of blue (or is it silver?) micro-particles.

Recommendations: Lucern-tainly Look Marvelous, Glitzerland, Cuckoo For This Color, Diva of Geneva

As I said in the OPI Swiss Collection Creme Swatches entry:

I am back to loving OPI's formula for this collection. Gone is the thick, goopy, unbelievably hard-to-apply texture and formula from the OPI Hongkong collection. The formula is now noticeably thinner, smoother, and a lot, lot easier to apply.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.25 out of 5.0 stars

Thanks for the beautiful swatches. I was looking at The Color to Watch as well but you're right..it does look sort of dated.

Phyrra- you're welcome! I am imagining Yodel on my Cell on you! So pretty on your fair skin I bet.

1xellus1- my pleasure!

Kristie- yes it does, and it is the only dated-looking in this bunch, at least in my opinion. The rest are gorg. :)
