I'd thought this collection by Maira Kalman would be a tad too bright for my taste. I already shunned the idea of even trying to consider getting these, until I saw some products in person. I was actually surprised that the scary bright orange technakohl liner as perceived in the official product images was not as bright as I'd imagined it to be. It was actually a pretty wearable orange, especially if you are sporting a neutral eye and you just want a sliver of color on your lashline. I can't say much about the other colors, but this particular one is promising: not too bright, and definitely not neon orange either. I can also see this as an eye shadow base (if you pack it on the lid) for coppers and bronze eye looks.

See how "tame" Obviously Orange looks? As for Maira's Magic, I'd thought that all the shadows in this collection would be super bright. Maira's Magic was actually a soft pink that would be great as an all-over lid color. It is a very pretty and wearable pink, and would complement purples, plums, reds and even greens and neutrals.

I have yet to see the rest of the items in this collection, so I reserve the rest of my review for later. Suffice it to say that from the looks of these two items, I'd surmise that the rest can actually just look scary because of the seemingly bright colors, but can be worn as soft and as sheer should you want it that way.
