MAC Sheersheen Minerals: A Review

I guess everybody knows I'm in love with mineral makeup. While some may argue that MAC's mineral makeup is not exactly made with pure, unadulterated minerals, I am still happy to be a fan of these as they are gorgeous and, more importantly, they don't break out my super sensitive skin. I've gone to the extent of collecting every mineralize skinfinish MAC has ever released, with the exception of Pleasureflush (though some Ebay sharks sell one of these from time to time, I am not about to plunk down $150 for a compact containing baked minerals that originally sold for less than $30.) You can see my MSF collection HERE and HERE.

MAC has come up with loose versions of the famed MSFs, and let me say that I love them almost as much as my MSFs. What I love about them is the fact that they emit subtle sheen, not garish nor glittery at all. They also refract light and blur imperfections and other blemishes. If you have dry, mature skin, matte is not for you, and I believe you need glows to soften the appearance of your skin. Glows are also pretty for the holidays and during nights out and even during ordinary days as long as it is applied sparingly. Glows also give that soft, ethereal look that we all crave.

I used my MAC Sheersheen in Silver Aura and I absolutely love it. I love the sheen and how it blurs imperfections and softens the look. I used my MAC 187 brush to apply the Sheersheen on top of my blush. I just love the name because it describes exactly what the product is: sheer sheen. Loose might mean messier for some people, but I think it's worth it as it contains no binders that can irritate skin, and I believe the sheen you get with the loose version is softer and finer than the baked MSFs.
