MAC For Ungaro: A Look and Review

I think Ungaro has been a pretty underrated collection, based on some of the reviews I've read online. Some people claimed that the color pay-off was not that good. I think that with a good base and a firm shader brush, you can get remarkable color pay-off with the shadows. I really love Soft Flower because it's a very unique color for me; I don't have any shadows similar to this clean pink-coral shade. Also, because it is matte, it looks amazing with shimmer shadows. Phloof! is a wonderful highlight shade, but because it is a part of the permanent collection, I don't think it garnered the attention it deserved. Mineral is a pretty dark grayish brown, which would be perfect for creating smokey looks or contouring the crease if you don't have anything similar. Lilac Touch is also a nice dirty midtone purple that can be used to do a myriad of pretty eye looks.

As for the lipsticks and lipglasses, they are pretty but I didn't see anything unique. I'd love to get my hands on Pastel Emotion lipglass, though. A girl can never have too many light pink lipglosses!

I am not a fan of the See-Thru lip color, though. Not that there's anything wrong with it. It is thin in consistency, and operates as a lip stain that I often see in Sephora and The Body Shop (cheek-and-lip stain). I am not a fan of those, although Not So Shy gives a very natural "just-bitten" lips look. I just prefer lip products similar to the lustreglasses, lipglasses and especially dazzleglasses.

Below is a look using Soft Flower. I really like this eyeshadow because it gives a very clean, coral-pink color which looks amazing with darker shadows. It is also soft enough to be worn during the day or at work.
