Joppa Minerals and She Space Shadows: Getting Tired Of Neutrals Yet?

Yesterday, another package from a new mineral makeup brand arrived. I used the term "new" to indicate that this was my first time to try this particular brand. I'm referring to Joppa Minerals, but I've heard about it several times before, and I've always read good reviews about it. Late last week, I was browsing its site when I noticed that full-size jars of two of its shades were on sale. I got even more excited when I noticed that those shades were the ones I was eyeing because by looking at the swatches and reading the description, they sounded like a good match. Imagine my delight when I saw that they were selling full 30g jars for only $10 each. I quickly snagged the Soft Coverage foundation in Medium Light #3 and Full Coverage foundation in Light #3. I also got their 17-pc-blush/bronzer sampler for $8. I was pleasantly surprised when I got my package yesterday, considering that Monday was a holiday here. Wow, these guys ship fast!! I was impressed. I was blown away by the foundations just by looking/swatching them on my hand. They look perfectly blended, very creamy, application was very smooth. I also liked the blush samples, and Joppa even threw in several samples of their multi-purpose minerals called Radiances, Morning Dew foundation in Jasper and their Perfecting Eye Cream. Wow, that's a lot of freebies!

Freebies!

Okay, so I tried the full-coverage foundation today. It didn't disappoint. It was quite a good match shade-wise as well, if I may add. I loooove the amazing coverage but it didn't feel heavy on my face, and most of all, it stayed put till the end of the day. Sigh, so many amazing mineral makeup brands out there! Anyways, I also used my She Space pigments today in Touched By the Truth, Decadent Daydreams and Rock & Roll. The marriage of the first two pigments resulted in a shade very similar to MAC's kohl power in Black Karat, so I used the latter to line my upper lashline. How did I like them? Let's just say I'm planning to get full sizes of all three soon. The samples were a little scant, especially for the light shades because I foil them and really pack them on the lid. Well, they didn't cost much anyway, so I guess I get what I pay for.

I used my Makayla blush from Joppa and it's described as a medium brick-red with golden undertones. The fact that it has golden undertones made it a winner in my book.

Hello,

I have purchased silk natural foundation and I love it. But my face is pretty oily, so by the end of the day I notice some of the minerals are melted away! heheee

I was wondering how the JOPPA full coverage was like and which colour worked best for you( light #3 or med #3 ) I am also asian and Im pretty light too! THanks any help would be great!

Oh and I was also wondering which mineral foundations in YOUR experience is best for price, amount of product, staying power(for oily skins)

like I said before I have ONLY tried silk naturals, but I find price of the refill baggies and the amount of product in the long run NOT really saving me MUCH money. I have the mat velvet foundation from MUFE (40$ CAN) but lasts me such a long time at least 6months and still counting

Hi christal..I have yet to try the soft coverage, but the full coverage feels great. Light #3 seems to be a good match. I will try to take pics of me wearing the soft coverage in Medium-Light #3. If your face is oily, you will love Joppa which contains kaolin clay that absorbs oil.

hey girl
thanks sooo much...

SO I did some calculations and Karen's silk NAturals is the best price for foundation so far. She charges 4.95 for white refill powder and you get 1 tablespoon=15grams. (although she is increasing her price to 5.50 soon) Joppa minerals is 16$ for 14grams......so I will stick to SN, but I might try joppas for the full coverage just once I duuno!
