Facial Oil Series: Camellia Beauty Oil Review

Press sample

I am back!  I apologize for being MIA for several weeks, as I experienced a deep personal loss.  I am back to blogging because, basically, I have no other option but to move on.  It is a mourning that I still deeply and completely feel, but blogging about things I love makes me feel a lot better.

Right now, I am really loving facial or complexion oils.  I feel that complexion oils penetrate my skin better, are more moisturizing and make my skin more supple compared to regular night or day creams.

Today I am writing about a pretty special facial oil.  Have you ever heard of a complexion oil with real gold flakes?  Yep, the Camellia Beauty Oil has 24-karat gold flakies, apparently to give your skin a "sensual glow".

Camellia Beauty Oil from Tatcha Skin Care is a rich but lightweight oil for the face, and it has camellia oil and squalene to seal in moisture to keep skin soft and supple, and licorice root extract to calm sensitive skin.  It is infused with bamboo and green tea fragrances which I don't find cloying at all.

As you can see in the photos above, the oil gives a really nice, subtle, healthy glow to the skin, but it's not oily or greasy at all.  It absorbs really well into the skin.  It complements  my retinoid regimen.  I apply Vitamin C serum prior to applying prescription-strength retinoids.  I then apply Camellia oil to infuse moisture into the skin for my nighttime skincare routine, and keeps my skin looking soft and supple the next day.

If you love complexion oils and like how it moisturizes and makes the skin look soft, supple and glowing, I recommend trying out Camellia Beauty Oil from Tatcha.  It is a little on the expensive side, but hey, it has 24K gold flakies!  The oil also feels luxurious, and the packaging looks posh as well.

(SRP: $95/ 30ml or 1.01 fl. oz)

Stay tuned for the next installment of the Facial Oil series on this blog!
