Banish Beauty Blunders Care Of Ms. Manicure Products

We’ve all been guilty of having a major beauty blunder at least once or twice in our lives. We leave the house with too much blush on, deodorant stains on our black t-shirts, fake eyelashes dangling from our perfectly made-up faces – the list goes on and on. Forgo common disasters and refine your inner recessionista by thinking outside the box with your beauty products. Let Ms. Manicure give you a lesson in how to fix fashion fiascos with these multi-functional nail products.

Knit-Pick Your Sweaters

Don’t worry about hand washing your favorite sweaters anymore. Solve your pilling problems with Ms. Pedicure’s Rock ‘n Sole ($1.99). By rubbing this dry pumice stone over sweaters, the little fuzzies that cause so much distress will be gone. Make sure to lay the clothing on a flat surface before gently stroking the fabric with the stone. Keep the stone clean and dry for future use!

Loose Lashes

Scared your eyelashes might fall off into your dinner plate a la the last date you went on? Give them extra security by applying them with the tweezers from Ms. Manicure‘s Handy Dandy Mani kit ($9.99). First, let lash glue sit for 30 to 60 seconds prior to using. Then, pick up individual lashes with tweezers, dip the ends in glue and securely apply them to the base of the eyelid. Make sure to coat them with mascara afterwards for extra protection!

Save Suede

Spill something on your new suede boots? You might not have to head for the shoe store for another pair just yet. Grab an emery board, like Ms. Manicure’s Call Your Buff ($2.99), and lightly rub the stain. Use the soft, buffer side of this four-sided board to ensure that your boots don’t get damaged in the process. Then, hold the shoe over steam from a boiling pot (or teakettle) on the stove to completely remove it. This works for suede clothing as well!

Ms. Pedicure Smooth Talker Callus Remover Review

My favorite shoes for work (and even for play) has got to be slingback peep-toe heels. Almost all of my shoes are peeptoes and slingbacks. I can't get enough of how sexy and yet grown-up and even professional they look. Those kinds of shoes come with a price, though. I just can't wear them with my ankles, heels and toes looking like they went through forty days and nights walking along dusty and parched dirt roads, can I? Sometimes, though, my feet look and feel like they did. I get dismayed when I see my cracked heels, and even though foot cream may alleviate it for a while, nothing beats exfoliating those nasty dead skin and calluses to really uncover pretty, blushing pink heels, soles and feet.

Thus, Ms. Pedicure Smooth Talker callus remover is such a must for my regular personal grooming. This tool is so easy to use in the shower or in the tub. I just let my feet become soft after washing and soaking it in warm soapy water, then gently apply the coarse side to the balls of my feet, the corners of my toes (especially the big one), and my heels to slough off calluses and rough, dead skin. Tada! Baby soft, smooth toes, heels and feet. WARNING: the results are amazing so it's so easy to over-use this. Do not over-slough!

Ms. Pedicure products are available at Target stores and online at Target.com.

One winner will be a U.S. Resident who shall win the Chesapeake Bay Candle Travel Set, and one international reader (outside of the U.S.) shall win the Ms. Pedicure Foot Spahh! Kit.

In these turbulent economic times, everybody is stressed out and uncertain about the future. What better way to relax, unwind and throw worldly cares away (even just for a relaxing evening) than with these great relaxation kits. Here are the photos and product description of each.

US Resident Prize: Chesapeake Bay Candle Travel Set in Amber Vanilla Hazelnut:

This gourmand fragrance is comprised of essence of cheerful plum and creamy hazelnut, blended with a floral bouquet of cyclamen, heliotrope, and chestnut flower. Luxurious undertones of vanilla and amber give the velvety touch to this delectable scent.

Set contains one 3 oz. soy wax candle in travel tin (approximate burn time 20 hours), one mini diffuser silkscreened glass vessel, one set mini diffuser reeds, one 100 ml bottle fragrance oil, and one set of scented stones in silkscreened glass vessel.
PRICE: $50.00

I decided to give this to a winner from the United States because this is very heavy and fragile as the candle containers are made of glass.

HERE'S HOW TO:
1. In shower or bath, use my Pumice Stone to rub away rough skin.

Ms. Manicure Handy Dandy Mani Set and Ms. Pedicure's Heel Cream: A Review

More and more ladies are now into nail polishes and nail care products because they realize that having well-manicured nails is always an advantage, especially because a woman's hands are always a focal point. Some people really splurge on weekly/bi-monthly manicures/pedicures at a posh salon, but what about those who can't afford that luxury especially in these tough economic times? I used to go to salons for regular manicures because, first of all, I didn't know how to properly do my nails and I always mess up my manicures especially if I use my non-dominant hand. I began to realize that good manicure tools are the key, and also regular practice makes it easier to apply polish on one's own hands. Ms. Manicure has an uber-cute, totally tote-able manicure set that would make a girl's life easier when she needs to do her nails. it comes with 9-pro tools for that fabulous, effortless manicure on the go.

Handy Dandy Mani is Ms. Manicure's new product for Spring 2009. It has not one but two zippered pouches that carry 9 pro tools that you can take on the go:

-cuticle nippers
-nail clippers
-nail scissors
-wood cuticle sticks
-nail brush
-washable salon board
-4-way nail buffer
-slant-tip tweezers
-double zippered pocket bag

SRP: $9.99

Check out the product image - it even contains directions on how to use the tools!

UPSIDE: The first time I actually saw this set, I totally shrieked in delight. It is SO cute! First of all, the pink packaging, pink everything, is so girly-girl, so it's perfect for me. The inclements work great. I used this for doing my nails, and I'm glad to say that they work great, especially for the price. For $9.99 for the whole set, I am surprised that it contains a working, decent pair of cuticle nippers. I don't exactly take out my cuticles totally because I know that is bad for the nails, but I need nippers to take out hang-nails, dead skin and to trim my cuticles. The nippers in this set actually worked good and took out all that had to be taken out. I also liked the nail brush to clean the surface of the nail bed and to take out stubborn residue. The wooden orange sticks are very convenient to push down cuticles or to clean polish off the sides of the nails. Overall, I like this kit especially since we regularly go to California on weekends, so this is going to be a permanent resident in my weekend bag. I also like the two zippered pouches because I can add nail polish, base and top coats in them so I can have my very own nail care kit on the go.

DOWNSIDE: I am not liking the nail clippers because they are too small, but I can always replace it with my own. That is pretty much my only gripe.

All in all, this kit is a very good buy especially since you get 9 decent tools for only $9.99, including a working pair of cuticle nippers. Obviously, the upsides overcome the downsides.

I've also had the chance to try Ms. Pedicure Heeling Fine Intensive Heel Cream. I regularly get cracked, dry heels because of the brutally dry environment where I live, especially during winter. My feet thrive on shea butter to prevent cracking and dry skin. I was glad to note that Heeling Fine does indeed have shea butter. I loved the fresh mint scent, and it really does take out the cracked dry heels. It is a pretty generous tube that retails for only $3.99 for 6 oz. of product! I am really amazed at how affordable this product is. Perhaps the only downside is that it only comes in one scent, so if you don't like minty scents or you want an unscented product, then this is not for you.

All in all, I would buy these products again because they actually work and they are very affordable. It is nice to know that there is an alternative to posh nail salons and high-priced nail and body care products out in the market.
