China Glaze Sea Goddess Collection Swatches, Review

Press sample

I am such a sucker for textured nail polishes.  I gotta say this is one of my favorite nail trends ever.  I love the textured feel and look, but I also love that brands start to give dimension to the look by adding glitter and colored particles.  It gives not only a grittier feel, but also a grittier look.

Here are the swatches of the six colors from the China Glaze Sea Goddess, and my thoughts on them.

China Glaze Sand Dolla Make You Holla

China Glaze Sand Dolla Make You Holla

China Glaze Sand Dolla Make You Holla is a nice milky cream-jelly base with blue, green, red, gold and I believe some black micro-glitter.  I normally like these kinds of milky crelly (cream-jelly) base with glitter, but I think I prefer a little bit bigger glitter, as you can't really see the micro glitter even from a short distance.  I do love the milky crelly base, though.

China Glaze Wish on A Starfish is one of my absolute favorites from this collection.  It's a beautiful light pink textured base with lots of gold micro-glitter/shimmer shining through.  This is such a beautiful textured polish.  Very feminine and yet unusual.

China Glaze Shell We Dance is a darker version of Wish on A Starfish, with less obvious gold shimmer.  The color and consistency reminds me of strawberry sorbet.

China Glaze Tail Me Something us a textured lilac base with silver shimmer and darker purple glitter.  I am a sucker for purples, so this is right up my alley.

China Glaze Seahorsin' Around is my absolute favorite from this collection, along with Wish on A Starfish.  It's a mermaid teal textured polish with flashes of green/aqua, which is perfect for the ocean theme of this collection.  I love how bright it glistens under the sun.

China Glaze Teal The Tide Turns

China Glaze Teal The Tide Turns is my least favorite, just because it has these dark green glitter in a mint green base that doesn't really look appealing to me.  The name is also wrong, because it is not teal at all.  It doesn't have the beautiful shimmery glitter that the other nail polishes from this collection have.

All in all, I am a fan of the nail polishes from this collection, with the exception of China Glaze Teal The Tide Turns.  China Glaze has textured polishes from past collections, but this is the first time that it churned out shimmery glitter in a textured base, and these glitters make the textured polish have more dimension and look much prettier.

Which are your favorites from this collection?
