I've already mentioned in my Video Post: Magnetic Nude Collection that I really like the Extra dimension formula, particularly the skinfinishes and blushes.  If you don't know what the extra dimension finish is, as I'd mentioned in my previous review, the MAC Extra Dimension is a liquid-powder hybrid formula that gives off prismatic reflections for that sculpted, highlighted and ever-glowing skin look. It has a very fluffy, bouncy texture that is almost identical to Estee Lauder's Modern Mercury tri-brid system (gel, fluid and powder in one).

Let's start with the skinfinishes. Just like the regular mineralize skinfinishes, these are on the metallic side. They have a similar finish, but the texture of the Extra Dimension skinfinish is not powdery like the MSFs. They also do not settle on the skin in a way like the MSFs do. I found that they are softer-lookinig on the skin as the day goes on when applied dry. They give a subtle sheen but not overpowering. They really do have a bouncy feel and texture that you have to try to appreciate. If you want a really metallic look like some of the MSFs, you can apply these wet.

I have two of the extra dimension skinfinishes from this collection:

Magnetic Appeal is a medium tan with fine gold sheen.  This is nice to give some sort of warmth to the face.

Superb is a soft peachy nude with multi-dimension shimmer that reminds me of Shimpagne MSF.

All in all, if you are not into shimmery, metallic highlighters, these are not for you. I personally prefer them especially during this time of the year when glowy, festive and radiant are recurring themes. I apply these using a dense kabuki or for a lighter finish, a small duo-fibre brush like the MAC 188 would be perfect. They do give a subtler sheen when applied dry, and a metallic shimmer when applied wet.

The blush that I have is a pretty one, Pleasure Model.  It is described as a soft terracotta with pearl.  It does remind me of terracotta red, very flattering on my warm-toned skin.

I like that these extra dimension blushes and finishes are released during the winter season, as the cold season sometimes makes skin look drab.  These face products give a beautiful sheen or glow to the cheeks that erases the dull look of winter.

These products are available now at your MAC counters and stores.
