I was given a chance to try these new Milani Color Statement Lipsticks and Lipliners. The lipsticks are quite creamy, full coverage and are pretty opaque in one swipe. The lipsticks are packaged in these gold tubes with the names on top of the cap, and the shades on the bottom of the tubes.
I was actually surprised when I saw how many Color Statement Lipstick shades Milani came up with. At first glance, the reds looked like they were all the same! However, upon swatching and trying these, I realized that there are differences both in the shades and textures and finishes.
Milani Color Statement Lipsticks: Sweet Nectar 01, Orange Gina 03, High Voltage 04, Red Label 05,
As you can see, the finish is very opaque and several have some sheen or shimmer to them. It glides like a dream on the skin and quite lightweight, but the color is truly saturated.
Milani Sweet Nectar 01 is an orange cream shade with a slight sheen to it. The formula is great and the coverage is opaque.
Milani Orange-Gina 03 is an orange frost. I don't know if people would like this, but the frost makes this look kinda dated.
Milani High Voltage 04 is very pretty, an orange-red that is very opaque and color-saturated.
Milani Red Label 05 is a neutral red with lots of sheen. It is very creamy and glides well on the lips.
Milani Cherry Crave 06 is a frosty kind of cherry red. Since it has noticeable frost, I don't know if a lot of people will like it, although I gotta say that the frost is very subtle and absolutely wearable. In fact, as you can see in the photo, the frost gives a subtle sheen that is not unflattering at all.
Milani Best Red 07 might be my top favorite among all the reds from Milani Color Statement. It's a beautiful blue-based red that makes teeth look whiter. It also has a more matte/satin finish compared to the other shades. This is such a beautiful red! I think the name suits it nicely - it is the best red among the reds.
Milani Ruby Valentine 08 is my favorite next to Best Red. It has a beautiful rich hue with a slight sheen to it. If I want a creamy red lipstick as opposed to a matte which Best Red is, I'd pick Ruby Valentine.
All in all, I was impressed with the Milani Color Statement Lipsticks. Very creamy, color-saturated, glides nicely on the lips without tugging, and has a wide variety of shades and colors to choose from. Best of all, it's quite affordable at $5.49 a pop.
A lot of people talk about the scent/flavor of these lipsticks, so I have to mention it. It has an obvious scent to it, like perfumed or artificial floral/fruit scent. I can't actually point my finger on its exact description, but if you are very sensitive to scents, try one out first and see if you are okay with the scent.
Let's go on to the Milani Color Statement Lip Liners!
I have to admit that I really didn't expect much from these lipliners, but whoa! They have great pigmentation and although they are on the matte side, they are quite easy to apply on the lids, and are very pigmented. I swatched these on my hand, and there were still traces of the product the following day after trying to scrub and wash it off. That said, these lipliners are really long-lasting.
All in all, if you want affordable, highly pigmented and color-saturated lip products, you might want to check out these new Milani Color Statement Lipsticks and Lipliners. They are available at CVS, Target, Walgreens, Walmart and K-mart.
