I've written reviews about ZO® SkinHealth by Zein Obagi, MD skincare products, and I've been honest in saying that I am really impressed with the products that I've tried from this line. This is coming from someone who has combination skin and sensitive, acne-prone skin. For this BCA month, ZO® Medical comes with a travel-friendly, TSA-approved skincare must-haves for any skin type. I'd love to carry this in the plane with me when I go out-of-town for the holidays. It makes skincare on-the-go so much easier.

Cleanse. Activate. Stimulate. This is the mantra of ZO SkinHealth Travel Companion to reveal great skin even when traveling. Cleansing is done using the Offects® Hydrating Cleanser. Activate the ingredients by using Skin Health Offects™ Exfoliating Polish. Finally, stimulate the skin for faster cell turnover using the Ossential® Daily Power Defense.

The Offects® Hydrating Cleanser (1.5 oz) keeps skin smooth and radiant and the company claims that it diminish fine lines and wrinkles. I cannot vouch for that claim because I have not tried this product long enough to form an informed opinion about it, but I like the clean feeling it gives without making my skin feel tight and dry. It doesn't break me out so that's a huge plus.

My favorite item from this kit is the ZO® Skin Health Offects™ Exfoliating Polish. Dr. Obagi advises that it be used twice a week to remove buildup and reveal the fresh, radiant skin beneath. The exfoliator uses round magnesium crystals to gently yet effectively remove dead skin cells, increase epidermal turnover and create a clearer, smoother, more even-toned complexion. Vitamins A, C, and E provide powerful antioxidant protection, allowing active ingredients to penetrate the skin to work harder, deeper and faster. The polish combines therapeutic Dead Sea minerals with the benefits of microdermabrasion to slough off dry skin and restore a healthy glow.

“Exfoliating is possibly the most crucial skincare step in an acne-fighting regimen,” reveals Dr. Obagi. “Unclogging pores and clearing away debris not only combats existing acne, but prevents new ones from forming, giving you a continuously clear complexion.”

Can you see how fine the grains are? You can hardly see them! I used this once and I was immediately hooked. After exfoliating, I really felt my skin became smoother with those little bumps (maybe half-out whiteheads) gone. It gave my skin a nice, even complexion, as long as I use this twice a week. I am impressed with this product.

Lastly, the Ossential® Daily Power Defense (1 oz) has my favorite skincare active ingredient in it: Retinol. I use prescription strength retinoids, but if you are using this product, I recommend do NOT use any other retinol or retinoid-based product as this may create adverse effects. Retinol boosts cell turnover, evens skin tone and strengthens skin’s barrier, while ultrasomes and roxisomes guard against DNA damage. I believe that retinol/retinoids are the reason why I have yet to see deep wrinkles or crows' feet around the eyes or my face (knock on wood). It sloughs off dead skin cells to reveal smooth skin underneath. When you use retinol or retinoids, always wear sunscreen with at least SPF30.

All in all, this is a great kit not just for travel but as a sample size to try out these products before committing to the full-size ones.  I am honestly impressed with these products and I can vouch for these because they were created by Dr. Zein Obagi, the world-famous dermatologist known for his acne-fighting medical breakthroughs.  You can purchase this travel set for $85 on the ZO® Skin Health website.
