MAC PRO Lip Palette: 6 Preferred Pinks Review

MAC PRO Lip Palette in 6 Preferred Pinks: Violetta, Creme De La Femme
Lovelorn, Show Orchid
Please Me, Pretty Please

I am not usually a fan of lip palettes because I just don't want the extra hassle of looking for a lip brush to apply the products. Also, to dip and re-dip the brush into the pan is a bit unsanitary. However, I realized that if I am the only one using this palette, it won't hurt me to do this, and pros usually just use a spatula to scoop out the right amount of product for consumption.

The MAC Pro Lip Palette is such a simple but great idea, I wonder why it took so long for MAC to come up with this. These are five color paletttes of the most popular and cult fave lipstick shades, and they are in one convenient palette arranged according to shades and hues.

I was able to try the MAC PRO Lip Palette: 6 Preferred Pinks. It has all these vibrant pink hues and even those everyday wearable ones that a makeup fiend can ask for. Let's take a look at the shades.

Swatches:

Violetta, Creme de la Femme, Lovelorn, Show Orchid

Please Me, Pretty Please

MAC Violetta

MAC Creme de la Femme

MAC Lovelorn

MAC Show Orchid

MAC Please Me

MAC Pretty Please

My favorite is Violetta, and beautiful bright violet purple in the amplified formula. Very vibrant and really brightens my complexion. The shade really lights up my face. I think I am partial to the bright shades in this palette as I am also drawn to Show Orchid, a hot pink in the amplified formula. Creme de la Femme is your everyday neutral pink but it's laced with frost, so I don't think people who loathe frost will like this.

Lovelorn is described an "emotive blue pink" in the lustre formula.  I like Lovelorn because although it leans on the cool side, it looks good with my skintone.  Please Me is a muted rosey pink in the matte formula.  I love this shade, and the fact that it is matte makes it slide right up my alley.  I'm not into Pretty Please, a pale pink pearl, as it's a little too light for my pigmented lips.

I am liking the pairing of the shades and the overall concept of this collection, what I don't like however is that there is no mirror in the compact.  It is like your MAC quad case so it does not contain a mirror.  However, I really believe that every lip palette should have a mirror.  I know this is specifically for makeup artists, but I wished they added a mirror for the average consumer.  Other than than, I like the mix of shades and how MAC grouped the shades according to the main color (pink, red, brown, orange, plums).
