Glossybox July 2012 Review

I was able to do a written review on Glossybox June 2012. I also did a video review on Glossybox USA's initial offering - April 2012. This time, it is all about the July 2012 box.

To those of you who don't know, Glossybox is a sampling service where you subscribe to the service, and every month, you will receive a gaily-wrapped package filled with 5-6 premium samples of nail, skin or makeup products. Glossybox's subscription fee is $21 per month, and you get a really nice, sturdy box with products tailor-made for you (you will have to fill up a survey to give the company an idea of what products you like).

Glossybox's website claims that they offer the crème de la crème of international brands. I do agree, because these brands are not ones that I see anywhere I go. I often see their hair care brands at salons, and some are mostly available online.

For this Glossybox, I was able to try five travel-sized samples and one small sample which I will talk about later. Here are my thoughts on the products that I tried:

Sebastian Color Ignite Multi Tone Conditioner and Shampoo

Conditioner

Shampoo

The Sebastian Color Ignite Multi Tone Conditioner and Shampoo are my favorite items in this box. I've been a fan of Sebastian hair care and styling products since 1999, and these two did not disappoint. These shampoo and conditioner are specifically made for Multi-Tonal and lightened hair. They have a smart color moisture complex that targets the color-treated strands to deeply moisturize and restructure fibers wherever needed most. Of course, these are without sulfates and other harsh chemicals that strip color-treated hair.

I am loving the shampoo because it gently cleans my color-treated hair. It smells fresh and clean and a little goes a long way. The conditioner is a mousse-type that works great on my fine hair. I have short hair so even though these are travel-size, I will not be able to consume these anytime soon.

Alessandro International Pedix Heel Rescue Balm

I get dry, cracked heels every now and then, so this product is a welcome one. This foot cream oil is imported exclusively from Germany. It smells like peppermint and really makes the dry skin on my heel feel soft and smooth. I use this every day since I almost always wear sandals, slingback heels or peeptoe pumps.

Senna Cosmetics Double Dose Lip Lacquer

The Senna Cosmetics Double Dose Lip Lacquer has a really cute duo-ended tube that contains two shades of glosses. The tube is pretty and the product is prettier. It is a super shiny gloss in peach/coral shades with gold/silver pearl. I love the shades, and it contains vitamins and jojoba oil. My only gripe is that I feel that it is a bit too sticky for my taste.

Ofra Cosmetics Universal Eyebrow Pencil

I haven't even heard of Ofra Cosmetics before I received this Glossybox, but this is the perfect shade of eyebrow pencil for me. The Ofra Universal Brow Pencil is created with a beeswax base for better staying power on the brows. I really hate it when my brows disappear in the middle of the day. The beeswax puts the product in place.

Caswell-Massey Almond and Aloe Hand & Body Emulsion

Have you ever smelled really pure, fragrant almond oil, or tried almond jelly at Chinese restaurants? This emulsion smells exactly like the best almond oil there is. It smells heavenly and the oil itself feels great on the skin. Too bad I only got two sachets of this! I can bathe in this product.

All in all, this Glossybox is really a good one as I didn't receive any duds. The theme of this box is "Summer Nights" and meant to cool down your skin and indulge in moisturizing products. My favorites are the Sebastian hair care products, the almond oil, and the brow pencil.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.5 out of 5

Note: Media sample was provided by a representative of the brand for consideration. All opinions are completely mine.
