I was able to try some of the Bobbi Brown lip glosses and shimmer glosses from the Desert Twilight collection. This limited edition offering includes hues that pay homage to the desert landscape and Southwestern jewelry. Since I live in the desert and in the Southwest, these shades are truly close to my heart. I have already uploaded a video review on the Bobbi Brown Desert Twilight collection, but here is a more in-depth look into the lipglosses.

I am loving the feel and texture of these lipglosses. They are a little on the tacky side, which is good for better staying power. However, they are not uncomfortably tacky; they feel comfortable on the lips with just the right stickiness to last a few hours without re-applying. I also like the nice vanilla scent.

These lipglosses including Avocado, Jojoba and Chamomile Oils, and Aloe Extract to pamper the lips while giving a luscious shine. The regular lipglosses have two limited edition shades, Evening Rose - a beautiful brownish plum and my favorite, and Honeysuckle, a nude pink.

Bobbi Brown also features Shimmer Lip Glosses that have little bits of pearl or sparkle particles in them. They really give a high gloss shine and the shimmer particles kick it up a notch. I have two of the shimmer Lip Glosses, namely Twilight, a limited edition gloss which is sort of like a nude bronze, and Bronzed Heather, a really shimmery gloss that has bronze tones as well.

Bobbi Brown is known for her flawless neutral face creations, so these lipglosses are no different. They are very wearable and although some are on the darker side like Evening Rose, the shades are still neutral and can be worn on any occasion.

My favorites from the ones I have are Twilight and Evening Rose. They flatter my skintone and goes well with my pigmented lips. The only downside that I can think of is that the price is pretty steep. For $23 a pop (per 7 ml /.24 fl. oz), these are quite expensive. However, the shades are pretty universal and can be worn by almost anyone anytime, anywhere. These are safe shades alright, but they are quite flattering on a number of skintones.

Pros: good texture, good staying power, nice subtle vanilla scent, wearable neutral, pink, plum and bronze shades, universal shades

Cons: price point

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.25 out of 5
