Meaningful Beauty by Cindy Crawford Skincare Line Review

So we all know that Cindy Crawford is still amazingly blessed physically at age 43. I am pretty sure most of that is due to genetics, but I'd like to know what she is using as well. Cindy has her own skincare line called Meaningful Beauty, and she's been endorsing it for seven years now. The line as developed by anti-aging specialist Dr. Jean-Louis Sebagh, and the Meaningful Beauty product formulas are based on the same formulas and anti-oxidant treatments that Dr. Sebagh formulated exclusively for his patients.


I received the Meaningful Beauty starter kit for review. It contains a 5-piece travel-sized products:

-Skin Softening Cleanser
-Antioxidant Day Cream SPF 20 UVA/UVB
-Créme de Sérum
-Lifting Ete Créme Advanced Formula
-Skin Brightening Décolleté and Neck Treatment SPF 15

I did receive some bonus gifts worth $45:
-Glowing Serum
-Glycolic Treatment pads

I was not able to take photos of the Décolleté and Neck Treatment SPF 15, but I will try to take some pictures and upload it later.

Here are my thoughts on each individual product, and then my thoughts on the system as a whole. I will also review them in the order of application:


1. Cleanse

Skin Softening Cleanser: I find this very gentle on the skin. I will be bringing this with me when I go out of town, as it is very convenient to tote around, and it feels gentle on the skin. The texture is pleasant on the skin, and it does take off grime and dirt without stripping my skin of moisture. It feels clean but not squeaky clean, because if you feel the latter, you know that your natural oils have been stripped off your skin leaving it dry. I use this with my Clarisonic and I do feel that it really does deep clean the skin. I make sure that I take off my makeup first using makeup wipes to extra cleanse my skin.

Bonus Product: Glycolic Treatment Pads



This product is to be used on clean skin at night, and use once or twice a week to wipe away layers of old skin. Do not wash off skin after use. I really look forward to using these pads. I imagine them sloughing off dead skin (yuck), revealing fresh, clear, new skin. I don't know what I'll do as soon as I run out of these pads.

2. Protect and Restore:

A. Créme de Serum

The Créme de Serum is aptly named- it is more of a cream version of a serum, or maybe a hybrid of a cream and serum. It comes in this unique transparent pump, and the product is dispensed like a cream - thick and not liquidy like your typical serums, but it works just like a serum once it is applied on the skin. I love this product since I love serums. The brand claims that it has a triple approach to anti-aging as it combats three main causes of visible signs of aging by increasing hydration, minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and helping to diminish other visible signs of premature aging. I cannot vouch for this claim as I have not used this product long enough to see these results, but this serum does feel nice on the skin.

B. Glowing Serum

Instead of the Créme de Serum, you can opt to use the Glowing Serum or you can alternate these two products. The brand claims that Dr. Sebagh calls this product his "model's secret", and contains soy protein, marine botanicals, minerals and antioxidants to help nourish, protect and revitalize. I do notice a slight difference in my skin when I use this; it gives a bit of luminosity to the complexion.

Blended into skin

I like this moisturizer. I am a huge fan of sunscreen in my moisturizer, and I will not use a day moisturizer that does not have sunscreen in it. It really moisturizes the skin adequately without breaking me out. I like how it feels on my skin, and it reacts well with my makeup primer and foundation (does not look greasy on the skin). My only gripe is that I wished that the SPF is an SPF30, as I rarely use moisturizers that have SPF lower than SPF30. I feel that SPF20 is inadequate to protect my skin from the harsh rays of the sun, especially during summer.

3. Lift and Firm

A. Lifting Eye Cream:

The Lifting Eye Cream is the BEST product in the kit for me, and probably my best eye cream. The minute I applied this on my eyes, I immediately felt the skin around it "lift", or maybe tighten is the word? It combats puffiness and visible dark circles and fine lines. It instantly diminishes my ginormous eye bags. I really love this eye cream.

B. Skin Brightening Decolleté and Neck Treatment SPF 15

I've always wanted a neck treatment, so this is good product for me. It moisturizes the neck and decolleté areas. I also like that it has sunscreen, as I always HAVE to use sunscreen on my chest, neck and arm areas (yes, I am OCD like that).


All in all, I am pretty impressed with the system. While I cannot vouch for its anti-aging claims as I have not used this kit long enough, I love the feel and texture of the products on my skin. I am particularly loving the eye cream, which as I said is the best product in the kit in my opinion. I also like the day moisturizer, although as I said I think SPF20 is too low for sunscreen especially during summer. Finally, I do think this is a worthy product to try if you are in your late 20s or older. This is an anti-aging kit targeting mostly mature skin, or if your skin is not yet mature but you want its anti-aging benefits. You can purchase this kit at meaningfulbeauty.com for $40.
