The thing that struck me most (and that I love) about the duos in this collection is that all of them have matte dark shades. That means the crease and outer lid colors would be matte, which is great to pair with their partners which are veluxe pearls, lustres and satins.

I am liking the ones that I have from this collection, particularly Dynamic Duo 3, described as a dirty toned purple and matte teal. I don't think it's a dirty-toned purple, though, but more of a taupe-ish-lavender. I don't think I have a matte teal or if I do, I don't remember as of the moment. I like having a matte teal because it makes the color much more wearable. The teal in this duo is also very subdued and not bright at all, so this is perfect as a crease color even when paired with neutrals.

Dynamic Duo 4 is a mid-tone pink and blackened purple. I like the blackened purple because it's matte and reminds me of Shadowy Lady.

Dynamic Duo 2 is a violet duochrome with pearl (frost) and clean violet (matte). Dynamic Duo 1 is coral with yellow pearl (veluxe pearl) and Clean purple (matte). Of the four duos, my fave hands-down is Dynamic Duo 3. The shades are gorgeous and are not too common.

Eye Kohl:

Hyacinth

Heirloom

Swatches:

Heirloom, Hyacinth, Resort, Smolder

The eye kohls are nice because they are not as hard to apply like some of the eye kohls from MAC that I've tried, but they are not very soft like the Pearlglides either. They glide easily on the skin but can still be controled and are not too mushy. Heirloom is a highly metallicized greyed lavender that will work on the waterline to make the eyes look more refreshed and awake. Hyacinth is a dirtied mid-tone blue. I love the "dirtied" look because it can almost pass for a neutral. Resort is a deep amethyst plum that is great with neutrals for that unexpected pop of color. Lastly, Smolder is my favorite, an intense black that is not as soft as Feline, and does not migrate to different areas as much as the latter.

Lightscapade Mineralize Skinfinish:

Swatch:

As I had mentioned in a previous post about Lightscapade MSF, I have both from the Danse collection in 2006 and the later release in 2011. The old Lightscapade has beautiful prominent blue and pinkish veining. So pretty. However, the old and new Lightscapade more or less look the same on the skin- they impart a pretty bluish-whitish glow to the skin that really perks up the skintone. This is one of the more popular MSFs and I can understand why- it gives a radiant complexion on a wide variety of skintones. However, I am not sure if this will work on really dark skintones because it might look too ashy.

Nail Lacquer:

Screening Room, In the Dark...Purple, Vivid Effect

Swatches:

Screening Room, In the Dark...Purple, Vivid Effect

I have not tried these on my nails yet, but you can see the swatches on the nail wheels. Suffice it to say that these are really vivid colors, very saturated and rich. Vivid Effect is a vivid, bright coral. Screening Room is a mid-tone bright teal creme, and In The Dark...Purple is a vivid violet. I like Screening Room and In the Dark...Purple, although for some reason I had a hard time applying Screening Room. It took me 4 layers to even out the streaks. I don't know if it's just because of the medium I was using (nail wheel), or it's really how it applies. I will use these on my nails and will post photos.

All in all, this is a nice little collection, but I have seen these shades before, I believe. However, I do appreciate the fact that the Dynamic Duo eyeshadows feature a dark matte eye shadow each, because mattes make good crease and outer lid colors in my experience. My favorites in this collection are Smolder, Hyacinth and Heirloom eye kohls, Dynamic Duo #1 shadows, and Screening Room and In the Dark...Purple lacquers.
