I have mentioned in my Top 12 Favorite Products of 2011 that the Bare Minerals READY eye shadows were some of the best things that Bare Escentuals has come up with, and one of the best products that launched in 2011 in my opinion. If you love eyeshadows, you gotta try these pressed shadows from Bare Minerals. These are super buttery, very pigmented, and glide like a dream on the skin. I was kinda surprised at how good the pigmentation of these shadows are considering that this was Bare Minerals' first foray into pressed shadow form. The first time I swatched them, I was truly wowed by how saturated these shadows are. They also last a really long time on the lids with pretty good staying power with a good base. These shadows are infused with Bare Escentuals' proprietary Sea Nutritive Mineral Complex, composed of positively charged sea minerals from nutrient-rich algae and seaweed. As with all Bare Escentuals shadows, these new READY shadows are free of binders, fillers, parabens and harsh chemicals.

This May 2012, Bare Minerals comes up with seven new duos and two quads from the READY line. This has the same saturated pigmentation as the first releases of READY from last year. This time, though, they made new combinations of complementing colors for the eye shadow enthusiast to mix and match. I believe The Phenomenon, their eye shadow duo that supposedly intensifies the color of the iris, was launched in a previous Bare Minerals set, but I believe this will be the first time that The Phenomenon will be sold individually.

Let's take a look at the swatches:

They have really nice pigmentation and the vibrant shades, as you can see in the swatches. My favorites are The 15 Minutes, The Cliff Hanger, The Last Call duos, and The Soundtrack quad. The Cliff Hanger is composed of Suspense, kinda like a cool taupe that's not shimmery but more of a matte, and Awe, a deeper blackened cool greyish brown. I like this duo because I don't have much cool taupes or browns, I always have the bronzes or the warm browns so this is very refreshing. The 15 Minutes has Page Six, a light pinkish champagne, and Most Requested, kinda like a shimmery cranberry-plum.  The Last Call is so pretty.  On the Rocks is a matte periwinkle blue, and Shaken Not Stirred is a gorgeous dark teal with teal specks of shimmer.

If you want a very neutral eye, The Hidden Agenda is your best bet.  Stealth is a matte off-white with peach tones, and Undercover is a beautiful charcoal with pearly sheen.  The last one is perfect for a smoky eye look.  The Alter Ego is a nice burst of color.  Wicked is a vibrant lime green pearl, and Daring is a darkened plum pearl.

Lastly, I have The Phenomenon duo that is touted as a product that will intensify the color of the iris with multi-dimensional pearl pigments.  Golden Iris is the gold metallic shadow.  It is supposed to make blue eyes look more intensely blue, green eyes to look a lighter green, hazel eyes to look more illuminated and alive, and brown eyes look a brighter green or an intense brown.  Azure Iris is the lavender pearl with opalescent sheen.  It is supposed to make blue eyes look illuminated and icy-cool, green eyes to look more intense, hazel eyes to look more intensely amber or brown, and brown eyes to look more intensely amber or navy blue.  Now, I have not tried this on my lids yet to see how my eye color would react to the pigment, but I will put up a separate eye look and review on that particular claim.

The quad that I have is The Sountrack that is the warmer-toned quad and has more golds and bronzes compared to the other quad that is available in this launch.  It is composed of Rhythm, a very pretty light matte yellow that is perfect as a highlight, Remix, a metallic gold, Louder, a metallic coppery-bronze, and Speaker Box, a beautiful blackened olive green.  I will also be coming up with a look using the colors from this quad.

As I have already said before that I am a fan of the Bare Minerals Ready line, I can't really find fault to these new ones, especially since the formula is still the same buttery and pigmented formula from last year.

I am loving the total package of these new solid shadows. The packaging looks sleek and classy. I also like that they included applicators for those touch-ups that you need, so this is perfect for travel. The wear is also a good 8 hours especially if you use a good eyeshadow base. They also glide well on the skin.

The new Bare Minerals READY Eye Shadows, quads and duos will launch in May 2012. The 2.0 retails for $20, and the quads for $30. They will be available at all Bare Escentuals boutiques, BareEscentuals.com, Sephora, Sephora Inside JCPenney, Ulta, Macy's, Dillard's, Nordstrom and other retailers.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.5 out of 5
