Here are some swatches of the new Zoya Spring '11 collection, Intimate. I like the color collection because it's very soft, subtle, and the collection describes itself perfectly: intimate. I like how the shades remind me of curling up on a sofa while watching TV or reading a book, sipping hot cocoa. I especially like the fact that these are not your usual pastel-hued spring colors. Glad Zoya veered away from that route.

Third from the left: Below Ground greasepaint stick

Once Upon a Time Metallic vanilla (Veluxe Pearl), A Dashing Lassie Metallic milk (Frost), Magical Mist Metallic taupe (Lustre)
Bronze Copper penny (Frost), Buckwheat Frosty medium brown (Frost), Showstopper Dark brown (Matte)
Here is a look featuring one of MAC's greasepaint sticks, Below Ground. This is a beautiful shimmery coppery bronze that actually showed through the eyeshadow that I layered over it. It gives a nice, bronzey nuance to the otherwise straightforward neutral eye look.
I also used the Tartan Tale neutral palette in 6 Dashing Lassie for this look.
Here is a step by step. All eye products MAC unless otherwise stated.

Apply Urban Decay primer potion all over lid, browbone and lower lashline. Apply Below Ground greasepaint stick on lid.

Using a stiff shader brush, apply Buckwheat over Below Ground.

Using a stiff shader brush, apply A Dashing Lassie on inner to mid-lid.

Using Charm Pro tapered blending brush (MAC 222 dupe) blender brush, apply Bronze and Showstopper on outer V and crease. Blend with the 224 brush.

When Sally Hansen says that this is Xtreme Wear nail polish, you'd better believe her. This is one of the longest-wearing nail polishes I have. This lasted a whole 6 days on me with nary a chip. Usually a manicure only lasts me 3-4 days, so this is a really remarkable formula for me.
As for the color, Red Carpet is gorgeous. It is a red jelly base with red glitter. This is similar to China Glaze in Ruby Pumps, but Red Carpet is a tad lighter/brighter. This is a great holiday or special occasion nail polish, but this would also look great on the toes with sexy strappy heels or simple sandals or flops. I know, it's snowing hard in other parts of the country and I'm talking flops, but one can dream of spring (we can't wait for it!). It's a bit warm enough here for me to wear peeptoe heels, so I will probably wear this soon.

I am getting to be very impressed with NYX Cosmetics. The products they are churning out just get better and better in quality, packaging and overall performance. They recently came up with the HD Studio Photogenic Collection, their new line of high definition makeup for an everyday flawless finish. This collection is part of their sub-brand which is their higher-end, premium line, because the product prices rival that of boutique or even mid-range department store brands, but I think these prices are still reasonable. However, with these products, I believe you really get what you pay for.
I was able to try one of the products from the HD Studio Photogenic Collection, and it's the HD Studio Photogenic Grinding Blush. This is my very first time to own a grinding blush, and it is so much fun to grind it because you can literally see the product being shaved into itsy bitsy shavings for you to consume.

Did you think that no concealer can ever hide your blemishes? Dark circles? Even tattoos? That's probably because you haven't tried an industrial-strength concealer yet. I was able to try the Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer which Hard Candy touts as a heavy duty concealer that can cover up anything, yes, even tattoos. I have dark undereye circles and if this thing can cover them up, then it's my new bestfriend.

I know OPI DS in Extravagance has been in the market for a long time now, probably two years, but I've never found it in any of my local nail beauty supply stores until a few days ago when I spotted two at ULTA. I grabbed one of them and I am kicking myself for waiting so long to have this. I have a few Designer Series polishes, but they never really made me gush over them as much as I am fawning over Extravagance. It is a beautiful magenta jewel-toned holo that is just gorgeous especially when light hits it. The little multi-hued sparkles just shimmer perfectly under sunlight. I understand how this is such a highly-coveted polish. This is definitely one of my top favorites out of the hundreds I own. If you haven't checked this one out yet, you definitely should. It's breathtaking.
