Zoya Winter 2011: Feel Collection Swatches and Review

Zoya FEEL collection

Kendal, Kennedy, Avery

Megan, Kristen, Carey

When Zoya had photos released of this new winter collection called Feel, I got very excited about this collection.  Let's just say it was the first winter collection that I didn't see shades of holiday colors.  I didn't see  noisy, festive colors, but just quiet, winter cool shades that made me think of stillness and pristine snow. The fact that these are cremes and not blingy or shimmery gives a certain subdued and tranquil characteristic to these polishes.  This collection makes me conjure images of immaculately manicured hands wearing one of these shades, holding a steaming mug of hot cocoa.  Silly, I know, but I think the fact that these are cool neutrals, with a grey or blue base instead of your usual spring colors makes them look really wintry and perfect for this season.

The FEEL collection has six wintry cool neutrals that are actually not that different from each other. They have subtle differences but they still belong to the same color family.

Kendal

Kendal is a greyed lilac cream and it is totally up my alley. I love greys and purples and the combination is beautiful. I even like greyed lilac lipsticks, so having this shade as a nail polish is a treat. This is one of my favorites from this collection.

Avery

Avery's like a peachy beige cream. I am not a fan of this shade as peachy colors, especially pale ones, make my hands look dull.

Kristen

I love the gorgeous light blue tones of Kristen. It has grey in it to keep it from becoming too robin's egg blue. I love how they infuse a lot grey tones in this collection.

Kennedy

Kennedy's a light greyed pink that I am also not that thrilled on my warm olive-toned skin. If it were a tad lighter or darker, I would have liked it more. It seems too close to my skintone but with pink-grey tones. It looks really clean on the hands, though.

Carey

Carey is a beautiful grey creme that looks so gorgeous. It is a definite grey with some blue tones infused in it. I think this is the best shade in the collection.

Megan

Megan is a greyed lavender that looks like Kendal except that it has more blue tones. I really like this shade as well, because the cool tones in this polish make my hands look brighter.

All in all, I am liking the collection, especially the cooler lilac-grey-blue shades. I didn't really see anything wrong with the formula; I didn't have a hard time applying the shades. Some reviews say these were a bit more runny than regular Zoyas. I don't know why I did not notice that. I like these in two coats, but three ain't bad. My favorites would have to be Carey, Megan, and Kendal. Kristen is nice as well.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars
