Illamasqua Beguile Pure Pigment Review and Swatches

The holidays are fast approaching, and what better way to look festive during parties and events than to spruce up your makeup by adding some bling? I've been looking at a lot of holiday looks, and my favorites are adding a little bit of sparkle or shimmer on the center of the lid. That way, even if the rest of the look is neutral or smoky, the added sparkle on the lid lends some oomph and festive touch to the entire makeup.

I was excited to try Illamasqua's Pure Pigment in Beguile which is part of the Theatre of the Nameless collection. It looks like boring white shimmery stuff in the container, but it morphs into a beautiful, sparkly, opalescent shimmer on the skin.

First of all, I love the packaging. It is in a simple short square container with a sleek black lid. It has a small opening where you can dip your brush into, as opposed to a tall container with a large gaping hole that can spill the contents in one accidental flick of a wrist. The jar is very sturdy and will not tip at all, and if it falls on the ground, the small hole minimizes spillage.

Can you see how it reflects pink, green, silver, lilac, depending on the angle at which the light hits it? It is so beautiful. I would use this on the inner corners of the eyes using a mixing medium, or on the center of the eyelid for a soft, shimmery, festive eye look. I would also use this as a cheek highlight, heck, maybe even on the decolletage. This reminds me of MAC's Reflects Gold pigment, but Beguile has a smoother texture, and of course the gorgeous opalescent sheen.

Look a bit like fine glitter to me but, I am liking it.
