I've had the chance to test out this gift set from Bare Escentuals which is part of their Holiday 2011 collection.  I've always looked forward to holiday sets from Bare Minerals because I want to know the different shades and colors and products that they will include in each of the sets that are of course individually themed.   This particular Oh La Luxe set features 10 beautiful eye colors and five cheek and face shades that will truly herald the coming of the holidays.

I am loving the deep, rich eye colors of this collection.  I also like the classic neutral shades that have been staples in my makeup stash for so long.  One of my all-time favorite Bare Escentuals shades is Celestine, it is one of my very first BE shadows.  It is a beautiful shimmering pewter-taupe.  If you don't like too much shimmer on your lids, try using Celestine on the center of your lower lid.  It will look breathtakingly beautiful.

Queen Phyllis is another favorite that I already have in my stash, but I prefer the matte version of this.  The low sheen of the (semi) matte looks really lovely on the lid or as a highlight.

Other favorites of mine from this collection are Kir Royale, Cable Car, Gossip, and Wild Jungle.  This last one would look amazing as a crease or outer-lid color.  Love the jungle green.

These shadows look amazing by themselves, but it would be best to apply them with a colored and tacky base (like paint pots or shadesticks), in order for the colors to pop and for them to stay put on the lids.  Pat (not swipe) the product on your lid using a flat shader brush to minimize fall-out.

Blush and Face Colors:

Posh, Vintage Pearl
Bare Radiance, Peach Blossom, Faux Tan

Posh, Vintage Pearl, Bare Radiance

Bare Radiance, Peach Blossom, Faux Tan

I am actually loving all the shades of the face colors. Posh is a beautiful rose, Vintage Pearl and Peach Blossom are great peach shades, and Faux Tan and Bare Radiance would make great bronzers.  If I were to pick my most favorite, though, I would choose Peach Blossom because it's such a beautiful coral with some gold highlights.  Tip: I often set my mineral blushes after application for longer-lasting results.

All in all, this is a great gift for somebody who loves both blushes and shadows.  I also think these shades are universal and would suit a wide variety of skintones.
