Tarte emphasEYES™ Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eye Liner and Shadow Swatches and Review

I am not much into pencil liners except if I am tightlining or applying liner on my waterline. I am more of a liquid/gel liner kind of gal. I love the crisp, precise lines of gel and liquid on my upper lashline. This is why I was quite excited to try the Tarte emphasEYES™ Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eye Shadow and Liner. Tarte claims that this liner contains Amazonian Clay that lends deep color pigments while nourishing skin, reducing surface oil and improving overall texture for smooth application.

Swatches and review after the jump

I love the packaging with the illustrated directions on the back!

I also like that every pot comes with its own dual-ended brush. The creamy, smooth product can be used either as a cream eye shadow, base or liner. The paddle-shaped head on one end of the dual-ended brush can be used to apply the product on the lid as a shadow, and the other side can be used to apply precise lines. I used this product as an eye liner, so I will review it as such.

As you can see, the colors are bold, rich, very pigmented, creamy.  It does not look patchy or streaky when applied, and I like that they are opaque and bold in just one stroke.  I am honestly quite impressed with these liners.  I prefer a strong, precise, crisp line on the upper lashline, and with the help of the dual-ended brush, I was able to create crisp lines effortlessly.  My favorites are Black and Plum.  I use black liner almost all the time, and Plum is a beautiful deep purple that is very flattering.

The best part is the staying power.  I rubbed it off with a wet Q-tip.  A tiny bit rubbed off but the majority stayed put.  Definitely pool, beach and tear-friendly.

It retails for $22, but I don't think it's unreasonable as it comes with its own double-ended brush.

I love the blushes too, 12 hour power as Maureen Kelly says. I watch her all the time on qvc. It is such a bum that I'm on waitlist for the Glow Your Way to Gorgeous TSV. did you get it? I met Maureen Kelly at Sephora in NYC, 34th & Broadway on May 6. I have pics on my FB page and there are pics on tarte's page. I brought her flowers. I was so so pyched to meet her.

I will definitely have to check out this review. A big part of me wants to get away from this area. I have lived in NJ my whole life. This part of the country, the NY Metropolitan area is so busy, stressful and "hussle bussle." As opposed to, for instance, Sarasota, FL, is so low key
