Conair Xtreme Instant Heat Multisized Hot Rollers Review

Okay so I may not be the most ideal model for hot rollers because I have short hair. Nonetheless, just because I have short tresses doesn't mean I can't use hot rollers, does it? I have fine, limp hair and so I need something to give my hair more body and shine is a bonus.

I was given the opportunity to try the Conair Xtreme Instant Heat Multisized Hot Rollers, and this is actually my very first set of hot rollers. The container is compact and attractive, and the plastic cover is quite useful to spot any missing rollers. Too bad there is only enough space for three of the clips, so I just add more clips to the metal wire as I go along.

Rollers heat up in just 75 seconds from their ionic port. At first I heated the rollers for 15 minutes and they were too hot. Duh. I should have read that all it takes to heat it up is a couple of minutes. I like that each roller has stay-cool plastic ends on either side to protect the hands from heat as you curl your hair.

Conair uses ceramic technology for better heat transfer and longer-lasting curls.  This set contains 20 ceramic multi-sized rollers:

-8 jumbo rollers (1.25")
-6 large rollers (1")
-6 medium rollers (.75")

I figured that the largest rollers go on top, medium ones on the sides, and the smallest on the rest of the areas of my head.

I am liking the dual heat that comes from both roller and the clip for extra hold.  This is the first time I used hot rollers, so I was impressed that even the container has wires onto which the clips can be attached and heated.

I have short hair so I really don't want tight curls.  I just want body and volume for my fine hair.  This hot roller set delivered in producing a nice, volumized look for my short tresses:

The rollers produced compact curls. I used my fingers to comb through my hair to separate the curls, and I eventually came up with a head of hair with volume and shine.

For longer hair, I would assume that you would get real curls and not just volume with this set. My short hair length diminished the ability of this tool to generate traditional curls, but for my needs, this is enough. This is good news for those with short hair that are plagued with limp hair and lack of volume. They can just take a few minutes to apply the rollers, let the rollers do their thing while they eat breakfast or do their makeup, then release the rollers to reveal fullness and body.

All in all, I am liking this set. I am looking forward to using this for an important wedding that I will be attending in a few days. It is a no-fuss way to create long lasting curls or volume, thanks to the ceramic technology and dual heat system.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.25 out of 5 stars
