Revlon Photo Ready Liquid Foundation Review

I have been reading a lot of mixed reviews about the Revlon Photo Ready liquid foundation. Since I've been using it for a while, I think it's about time I do a review on it. Here are my thoughts on the Photo Ready.

blended into the skin

Packaging-wise, this is a lot better than Color Stay, of course, because of the sanitary pump dispenser. I also like the sleek lines and the black cap because it looks classy and chic.

The consistency is lighter than Color Stay. That said, it is neither too thick nor too runny. It's just about right. As for the finish, however, this is where the point of contention is. Some people say it is way too shimmery. Honestly, I don't see much shimmer. It looks dewy to me, but not greasy at all. It can even be said that for me, it is on the dewy-matte side. You know how in some angles it looks dewy, but matte in others? I can't explain it that well so here's a photo of me wearing it to illustrate:

I can say that it looks slightly dewy on my skin maybe because of the shimmer particles, but it does not look overly so. It may be because I used a finishing powder to set everything and to sop up excess oil. I also used a matte, silicone-based day cream/primer (Dr. Denese SPF30 day cream) underneath, so it might have also helped. Staying power is pretty decent especially with a primer.

As for the coverage, it is very buildable and it can be medium to heavy depending on your preference. I apply it using my Coastal Scents kabuki-on-a-stick. It helps even things out and create a smooth finish. I pump a blob of product on the back of my hand, take my kabuki-on-a-stick to pick up some of the product, stipple the brush with the product on my face and eventually applying it in buffing motions.

While the Photo Ready foundation is the only liquid foundation that I found the finish hard to describe, I want to say that I like it. I didn't even notice the shimmer particles others are talking about until I read some reviews. For me, though, it is not very noticeable and I kinda like the shimmer because I hate a completely matte foundation.  The dewy-matte finish is right up my alley.  Best of all, this did not break me out.

I think the dewyness is a good thing! Does it go away after powder is applied?

Lovely review! You look gorgeous and flawless with it!! Loves the satin/natural finish! Not liking overly matte/mask-ey look! ^^ I'm in between shades 04 and 05 :S

Just tried it today and I love it! I bought natural beige, it does look a bit dewy even hours after applying but a nice look nonetheless!

I have 006 but is too dark for me. May I ask which are you belong . I'm MAC NC 25 but wondering why is 006 so dark on me. I've heard some said 008 is lighter than 006, is that true. Or maybe I should get 008 instead of 006?
