Anastasia Brow Duality: Dual Ended Matte and Shimmer Highlighter

There's a new product from Anastasia coming out this month, and it's great because it is the perfect marriage of the power of choice and convenience. It is a dual-edged pencil featuring a matte highlighter on one end and shimmer highlighter on the other. The matte side is perfect for use during the day to create a soft highlight under the brow. For nights out, the shimmer side can give your eyes (and brows) the oomph they need for the big event.

Prior to owning my Anastasia matte highlighter pencil, I'd never owned a matte highlighter. Why? Honestly, I have to confess, I'd looked down on any matte eye product. I felt that it would look ugly because, let's face it, most of us (myself included) want drama and shimmer on the lids. I didn't realize that a matte highlight on the brow arch can be one of the prettiest makeup tricks, because it defines the brows, makes it look clean and polished, all without going overboard. It just looks perfect during the day when people would see a clean, well-groomed set of brows, but they wouldn't notice the highlighter because it is subtly matte. The matte highlighter can also double as a stick concealer because it efficiently covers imperfections and stray hairs.

Of course, should we change our office makeup to a dramatic look for nights out, shimmer is expected, so Anastasia has married her customer favorites in one. The Brow Duality dual-edged highlighters are perfect to keep in your purse for those touch-ups you would need to transform your makeup from classic office neutrals to amazing night looks. The fact that they are in pencil form also makes it easy to apply the shimmer on the inner corners of the eyes or on the eye rims.

How to apply:
- Apply either Matte or Shimmer side directly along the browbone underneath brow hairs
- Blend up and outward using index finger

I have tried both variants, and I honestly can't pick a favorite. Well, if I really had to choose, I'd choose Camille over Shell matte highlighter because Shell kind of disappeared into my skin because they are basically of the same undertone. Camille looks real pretty under my brow. I'd prefer Lace shimmer because the warm undertones complement my skintone more, but Sand is very pretty too and is a lovely browbone and inner corner highlighter as well.

All in all, this is a good product, especially if you want a convenient matte/shimmer highlighter that you can simply pop in your purse without the need for an eyeshadow brush. Brow Duality comes out in stores October 23rd.

Thanks for this! I gave the sand one to my sister because it didn't show up at all on my fair skin, but it looks magical on her tan complexion...I'll have to try the lace to see if that shows up!
