Some Looks Using MAC Cool Eyes Palette and Laura Geller Baked Makeup Set

Here are some looks using newly-acquired products. The first one is a pink/purple look featuring MAC Holiday eye palette in 6 Cool Eyes and Grape pigment. I like combinations of pinks and purples because they look really feminine. This is my first time to use the 6 Cool Eyes palette. I love the burst of colors, but I admit this is not something I can use everyday. This would be pretty for holiday or party looks, and when you really want something pink, lilac or feminine.

Here's an eye look featuring more or less the same products, but applied more sheerly:

And now here's a look featuring several products from the Laura Geller Baked Makeup Set. I'm really liking the colors and the glow-from-within finish these provide. The Balance-N-Brighten baked corrector truly evens out skintone, brightens the complexion and blurs imperfections. In this look, I used the Spackle Under Make-Up Primer and I can say it's pretty effective in evening the skintone as well. It has light diffusers that blur harsh lines and soften the entire look. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't make my t-zone less oily, so I have to use blotting sheets every few hours. That's fine though because I've never encountered a primer that completely eliminates my oilies.

I also used the Marble Eyeshadow duo in Waterlily/Wood Forest and I really love this combination. Waterlily is a beautiful metallic old rose hue, and Wood Forest is a shimmery metallic brown. Waterlily is pretty when foiled on the lid, and Wood Forest is a great outer V color. I also tried the tip found in the brochure that came with the set, and used Wood Forest as a liner mixed with my MAC mixing medium. I love that the color really popped out and it gave the eye look some oomph. Can you believe it is very similar in color to my holy grail liner, MAC Graphic Brown fluidline? Thanks for the tip, Laura! This is turning to be one of my favorite liners!

My favorite product from the set is Blush-N-Brighten in Roseberry. I sooo love the color and the glimmer! It's not a discoball shimmery kind of skinfinish, but a soft, pretty sheen that is perfect even for daytime use. I soo love the pinkish-berry color. I was also pleasantly surprised by how long it lasted on my cheeks. I don't know if it's because of the weather (chilly and dry), but I was pretty satisfied with it.

Lastly, I used my new mineral foundation, Ocean Mist in Dandelion. I realized that Bamboo was pretty dark on me, and I used Dandelion instead and it really blended well with my strong yellow undertones. I love the smoothness of the finish and the fact that it doesn't look cakey at all. I love the light to medium coverage because it just feels and looks natural, but very buildable so you can also cover blemishes by spot-concealing them. Overall, I am VERY satisfied with my new acquisitions and I cannot wait to try out the rest.
