Smokey Pinks and a Purple Package

I received a package this week from my regular MAC pigment seller: 1/2 tsp each of Quietly, Vis-a-Violet and Helium. Now if these were not LE (especially Quietly which was launched only in Asia) and in scant quantities everywhere, I would have purchased full-sizes of these. Yes, I know, Helium is a repromote in the upcoming Curiousitease pigment set, but I didn't know that when I ordered these! Anyways, I loved my tiny haul nonetheless. I got 1/2 tsp each because 1/4 is just not enough for a pigment whore like me. Anyone out there into pigments like me as well?

As you can see, Viz-a-Violet and Quietly look so similar in the jars, but believe me, they're not. I also love similarly-hued pigments so that the progression of shades on the lids are both subtle and noticeable.

As labeled, I applied these over Painterly paint pot so the colors stay truer to their shades on the lids when worn. These were applied dry and they will change a bit, both in texture and color, when foiled (I'd like to apply Helium using the MAC mixing medium because as you can see on the swatch, it is quite grainy when used dry).

I tried a smokey pink look, but I was disappointed with the pictures. I usually take pictures in natural light, but I took these at night, so the nuances of the eye look didn't register properly. Oh well. Just want to rave about Poste Haste from the Matte2 collection. This is the almost-Passionate clone, but I let go of the latter because Post Haste is soooo much better! It glides like butter on the lids unlike Passionate, and was not hard to blend at all. The color pay-off was fantabulous as well. I hope I'm not the only one liking the texture of the Matte2s!
