Bare Minerals' Smoky "V" Eye Kit

I was browsing my latest ULTA brochure I received in the mail when I came across this intriguing kit from Bare Minerals. As I mentioned in my previous entries, I'm slowly starting to delve into the deep, dark, mysterious world of smoky eye application, and I am groping for as much tips as I can get. This kit is part of Bare Minerals' Tutorials series which promises simple steps for a sultry eye look via the detachable "tip card" enclosed with the kit. I can't wait to get my grubby hands on this kit, especially on the brush that comes with it. The thing that caught my eye the most was the unique "V" brush - it is a unique, patent-pending double ended brush with a "V"-shaped brush tip. This V-tipped brush is supposed to allow two colors to be applied at once just by dipping each end in different pigments. This brush also allows splitting of colors for added depth to your looks. It has a simple concept - the two forked ends deposit darker pigment, while the space in the "V" would allow gentler application of the colors (the colors would come from the residue on the two forked tips). You can also twist the brush where you want the colors to merge and become one beautiful hue. The single pointed pencil-shaped end can be used either as a smudge brush to blend pigments to soften the harsh edges of the look, to deposit color on the lower/upper lashlines, or it can also be used to apply an all-over wash on the lid. One thing's for sure: I want my hands on that brush!

This kit comes with bareMinerals Pacific Heights Eyeshadow (gray lavender), bareMinerals 1990’s Glimmer (bronzed brown), double-ended Smoky V Brush (exclusive, patent-pending brush), and detachable tip card with easy how-to instructions. Retails for $32 (a $54 value).
